| "G_d will send yeshuah. Salvation." |
ONE DAY’S mistakes isn’t a lifetime of catastrophe. Or a day of catastrophe. Shrug it off and ask yourself if that thing is really worth falling apart. It never is. So you messed up. Big deal. If it involves people, apologize where it’s needed and be humble. Do what you need to do to fix it. If it can’t be fixed, ask for forgiveness and then forgive yourself.
Arguments are demonic. Any argument left to fester becomes violence in some way. This is why God chose to save the world through peace. Not in war. There was never a spiritual war, and there isn’t one now. God never endorses battle. He is shalom, a Hebrew word meaning total well-being – body, soul, and spirit. This goes to prophecy of the future as well. We’ve taken John’s Revelation, which is primarily the history of the Jews, and turned it into a muddled mess. 1 Corinthians 14:3 says prophecy is for our exhortation, edification, and comfort. So if what you hear or what you’re predicting brings fear and distress, then it isn’t God.
Jesus is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). The God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3). There is no war in Him. When He died, He fixed the sin problem so that all our days, all our reactions, can be peaceful. “What the devil wants” is for us to argue. Now, he does want this. But remember Hebrews 2:14. Satan has been destroyed. Stop putting him in everyone’s ear. Stop blaming everything we struggle with mentally on devils. 1 John 3:8 tells us the works of the devil are dissolved. That’s the meaning of the word “destroyed” there.
Meditate on peace. See every minute of the day being peaceful. This is what diffuses stress, anxiety, and fear.
I’m so done with fear. Anytime it presents itself to me, I look the other way. I saw the beautiful advice of a rabbi for a father who’d heard “bad news” from the doctors over his infant son. The Rabbi said doctors are here to assess the medical reports and NOT to predict the future. “So many times we’ve seen the doctors predict one thing and Hashem does something else.” And then the kicker. He told the father to stay hopeful, to be happy, and know that G_d will send yeshuah. Salvation. If the Jews know this, then why doesn’t the church?
But the doctor said …
But God says. Isaiah 53:5. 1 Peter 2:24.
Argument and anger mean our point-of-view isn’t God’s. Fear and panic mean our point-of-view isn’t of God. We’re not looking at Him fully because if we were, He is mercy beyond our understanding. He is exceeding, abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). This should be our meditation. I’ve discovered the more I make Jesus who I see and who I hear, the less all the trash around me stays in my view. He is beautiful. He is kind.
