| "Study in the Spirit and let Him teach you." |
I HAVE SEEN some things taught in the pulpit that are frankly, to be crass, BEYOND STUPID. This is not me writing to air them out. They are too dumb and ungodly and wrong-wrong-wrong. I will never pollute your thinking. What I will do is speak Truth. Below is a list of Truths with Scriptures to prove them. Study in the Spirit and let Him teach you.
A) Adam was a man. Eve was woman formed from his side, a rib, the place of the breath. They were created that way on purpose.
- Scripture reference: Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
- Scripture reference: Genesis 2;22 “And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.”
B) God created the earth to be inhabited. But He took His time. This explains why in Genesis 1:1 the earth was still void. He did eventually create the rest of earth and put man on it. See point A.
- Scripture reference: Isaiah 45:18 “For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.”
- Scripture reference: Genesis 1:31 “And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”
C) At the tower of Babel, God confused peoples’ language, making many cultures.
His reason: He was going to create the Jews so He could be one.
His behavior: God has all the facts. He knew the intent of every person alive and all their words and thoughts. He is patient and kind.
- Scripture reference: Romans 2:2 TPT “God is always right, because he has all the facts.”
- Scripture reference: 1 Peter 1:20 “Who [Christ] verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world.”
- Scripture reference: Psalm 139:2 “… thou understandest my thought afar off.”
- Scripture reference: 1 Corinthians 13:4 ISV “Love is always patient; love is always kind.”
D) God cleansed the earth with the flood. Sin made it all violent. God promised it would never need to happen again. Seedtime and harvest would never cease.
His reason: Jesus would come to earth to die and be resurrected. He would cleanse mankind of sin.
- Scripture reference: Genesis 6:5 “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”
- Scripture reference: Genesis 9:15 “And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.”
- Scripture reference: Genesis 8:22 “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”
- Scripture reference: 1 John 1:7 “… and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
E) Satan was an angel. He sinned first, before anything else. He was cast out of heaven. Jesus saw this. Next, we see him, he’s inhabiting a serpent.
Fun fact: Serpents are not evil. God created them. There are people dedicated to raising, caring for, and studying serpents (and other reptiles).
- Scripture Reference: Revelation 12:9 “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”
- Scripture Reference: 1 John 3:8 “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
- Scripture Reference: Luke 10:10 “And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.”
- Scripture Reference: Genesis 3:4 “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:” See also Genesis 2:17.
F) God warned Adam that the chance to sin would happen.
His reason: God is love.
- Scripture reference: 1 John 4:8 “… for God is love.”
Yada Yada: The above statement can be applied to references to God’s wrath. God is good.
G) John’s Revelation is a prophecy. Prophecy is for our exhortation, edification, and comfort. God is peace. He is not fear.
Fun fact: A lot of prophecy in the Word of God has been fulfilled.
- Scripture reference: Revelation 22:18 “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book.”
- Scripture reference: 1 Corinthians 14:3 “But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.”
- Scripture reference: Hebrews 13:20 “Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus.”
- Scripture reference: 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
To quote a very funny Christian comedian: Whatchanotgointodo is speculate about things the Word of God doesn’t say. We must read with the Spirit and hear Him speaking or we will do dumb things in the pulpit.
Things the Word doesn’t say, and we shouldn’t speculate about:
A) Dinosaurs
B) Cain’s wife
C) the ancestry of the giants
D) the tower of Babel’s purpose
E) the symbolism of John’s Revelation (though the Spirit will show you things in the book if you seek Him, but first, lay down all you think you know).
