God Speaks

"and there's no guesswork."

GOD’S VOICE is not vague. He speaks clearly, and you will know it. What He says will always bring peace and clarity. What He says that we “just don’t get yet,” He will explain. He speaks in sentences, in paragraphs, in conversation.

“keep an open conversation with God and talk with him about everything,” (1 Thessalonians 5:17, Remedy)

A lot of teaching on hearing God centers on a feeling or a “knowing”. It’s that you face a situation and have this unspoken knowledge that is Him. Most often that comes with our personal fears and lack of understanding. Our behaviors and prejudices. We can’t separate spirit from soul, joints from marrow. Hebrews 4:12.

God knows you. He knows me. And He will always speak so that He is heard and there’s no guesswork. He speaks on our level, not hoity-toity and far above us. Which is another thing. The Holy Spirit is not going to descend upon our services. He is not “going to fall.” He fell upon the 120 Jews in the Upper Room on the Day of Pentecost. Jews celebrating a Jewish holiday. And Jews were saved. Just inserting that. But point is, He is here and He lives within us. He is “a well of water springing up into everlasting life (John 4:14).”

He is all knowledge and the source of wisdom. He is specific. He knows you down to your finest DNA (Psalm 139:15). He knows your thoughts before you speak them (Psalm 139:2). He is patient and kind, not easily provoked. 1 Corinthians 13:5. He is generous and WANTS TO BE HEARD. You will never seek Him and not find Him (Matthew 7:7).

He is the Spirit of Christ, so talking to Him is talking to Jesus. And Jesus replies. We don’t need to fear it. NOT that it’s Jesus. He isn’t the image painted by most of the church. He’s far better. So kind. NOT if it’s correction. Truth is, He corrects with kindness and not so often. He’s very familiar with the habits of men. He is one. I found I can be myself and react as I would react, even if it’s not how the church says to be. NOT if it’s knowledge. His knowledge is for our benefit, so that we can grow.

And you’ll hear a complete thought. It won’t be three words and a mental picture. It will not be a knowing, until you KNOW Him, and then you will know that you know.

“I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.” (John 10:14)
