Sounds Like Jesus

DON'T LET the image of the devil take your peace. I say "the image of" for a reason. There is a devil and many devils. But Jesus destroyed them (1 John 3:8). People teach otherwise, unknowingly. What you rehearse is real. There is no devil for me. For a reason. When evil was loud and I swung my sword, God said, "Sit and rest. It's my battle." I've been taught through experience and from the Word that there is no more war.

Yet the church keeps fighting.

Each other. We are not devils. Or the devil’s. We are God’s.

Israel. Israel is God's. You will always hear this from me. Jesus is Jew. Note, not "a Jew" meaning "one of" but all that Judaism is. He founded it. And fulfilled it (Matthew 5:17)

Devils. As I said, they have been destroyed.

The devil, meaning Satan. But he has been rendered useless. The meaning of “destroyed” in Hebrews 2:14.

My point is, the Spirit asked me to stop fighting. We are the army of God, many say. But if so, we are not fighting the devil or devils. Instead, we are fighting the doubts and fears of darkness. We renew our mind through the Spirit. In Him, we are peaceful (Galatians 5:22). And fighting FOR others, ON THEIR BEHALF. Here is our calling. We are the Light of Jesus burning (Matthew 5:14). And our Light only burns with Love.

Galatians 5:14 is so clear on this. I love the EasyEnglish translation. "One rule brings together all the rules that God gave to the Jews. This one rule says: ‘Love every other person the same as you love yourself.’" It goes on in verse 15 with another powerful Truth. “But do not be like wild animals. Wild animals fight and eat each other. If you are like that, be careful. Be careful that you do not destroy each other completely."

We pick each other apart with our opinions on each other’s behavior and so look nothing like Jesus. Worse we say the battle is against Satan. We blame things on “the enemy.” But people are not our enemies. And our fight isn’t against devils. Ephesians 6:12 is defined that way by many, as levels of spirits which control the world and atmospheres. This goes directly against Scripture. Devils have nothing of God. He is wisdom. He is peace. They have neither one. We cannot ignore Hebrews 2:14, 1 John 3:8, and 2 Timothy 1:10 – destroyed, destroyed, and abolished.

When Jesus rose from the dead, everything changed. Nothing is the same, even from what we read in the Gospels to what we see in the book of Acts. The worship of Israel has changed by the Presence of the Spirit on the earth. It is not today what it was in the apostle Paul’s epistles. The destruction of the temple by Rome altered it. The wars and rumors of wars which tried to annihilate them changed it (Matthew 24:6). The modern age – telephones, mail services, internet – all our modern forms of communication have changed the worship in the church as well. We don’t have to take a ship to hear the Gospel. They had no printed Bible, except what was done by hand and delivered in person. The printing press was far in the future.

All of that said, God’s Word is Truth. But Truth only known through the Holy Spirit, and He is with Israel as much as in the church. A known Rebbe called the “commandments” of the Torah RELATIONSHIP. “Commandment” is really the wrong word, he said. It implies rules and judgment for breaking them. Instead, they are so we will know Him. Sounds like Jesus. Who IS the name we both worship, simply by many names recorded in Scripture. Most of them Old Covenant written by the Jews. Who know God is alive and their salvation.

Psalm 25:5. “Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation.”

Salvation from sin. Through Jesus, we are free of its power. Salvation from the devil and devils. They are destroyed and destroyed. Salvation from death. Which the Father has declared ended (Revelation 21:4). There will be no more sorrow, no more death.

Change your vocabulary. Change the way you think, the way you talk. Walk in the Spirit 24-7. Walk in Jesus’ Victory when you work, when you eat and sleep, when you pray. And KNOW GOD intimately. Know G_d.
