Every Detail

"The more we trust Him, the more we will trust Him."

THERE IS something to be said for not having to know. So much of trust in God is because we don’t know things. I mean, He knows all details, down to motives of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). And the Word says, and our relationship with Him shows us, that He is trustworthy. He has our infinite good at heart. We must believe this and throw all our eggs in His basket no matter what other thoughts we have. And a lot of them are silenced when we stop trying to know.

I have worded it that way on purpose. God knows, so we don’t try to find out more than what He shares with us. Trying to go over God’s head (which isn’t possible) to learn more than He’s sharing will lead into error – thoughts of reasoning in the mind which can be way off base. Educated or not educated guesswork. Education has its place. But it can lead to not walking in the Spirit, not being led of the Spirit (Galatians 5:18), and the Word says the carnal mind is enmity or fighting against God (Romans 8:7). No one should have to explain that’s a bad idea.

How do we turn loose of knowing, though? Well, I visualize it. I picture me handing that frustration to God and Him putting it in His pocket. And if it comes up in me again, I visualize it again. His Truth says we are to cast or throw all our cares upon Him (1 Peter 5:7) and to “be careful for nothing,” meaning to not be anxious (Philippians 4:6). It also says He will give us understanding for what we face (Ephesians 1:18), and sometimes the understanding we need is that we need to let go. God wants us to know Him, to have amazing revelation of who He is. I cannot stress seeking Him enough. But when what we think we need to know is all the infinite details that lead up to our answered prayer, chances are, what He desires is our trust.

The more we trust Him, the more we will trust Him. It grows in size and strength with use until we have no doubt of His care for us, that He will do everything He’s promised. Just look at Israel and see His fulfillment of His covenant with them. He promised them salvation and redemption (Micah 5:2), and He provided it. Hashem is their Savior (John 4:22). He promised them He would pour out His Spirit upon all flesh (Joel 2:28), He would deliver (save) all who call on His name (Joel 2:32). And He is. Within their nation, their people, and grafted in, the rest of humanity. To a people, then unseeing, when it was spoken, has risen one which knows and trusts. We must be like them without any doubt G_d is on our side.

“Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.” (John 4:22)

A Rebbe (rabbi) prayed a blessing over a woman almost dead and now she lives. He knew G_d heard and would answer. She knew because he’d spoken, G_d heard. They know G_d is alive. And in the people’s respect, nee adoration, of this Rebbe, I see a picture of Jesus Christ. This Rebbe is just a man and has said that. When asked how to rise to his level, he replied to seek Hashem and rise to your own level. But everywhere Jesus went people followed. He spoke to multitudes and healed all their sick (Matthew 14:14; Luke 6:19). In this modern example, I see the demand placed upon Him and His trust in G_d for what He, as a man, did not know.

“And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.” (Matthew 14:14)

“And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.” (Luke 6:19)

He knows all things now. He didn’t then but left the care at the feet of the Father. And, in the end, released His spirit into His hands (Luke 23:46). We must do the same. I have done the same. I do not worry about death nor what could lead to death. I don’t seek the details of my life. All of it is in Jesus’ hands. I will go home when He chooses. In this and all between now and then, I trust Him. There is no fear in love (1 John 4:18). He who made the world, saved the world, and can handle well every aspect of my life from the health of my dog to the hairs on my head.

He can handle all the details of what He has decreed. From Genesis to John’s Revelation.
