| "He's the most consistently Good Father." |
PRAYER IS from victory. It is not warning of disaster. God’s point-of-view is solution. We pray because He is the solution, He intends to solve the problem. Too much is prayed by well-meaning pray-ers (a Lynne Hammond word, God bless her) that is fearful of disaster, as if it may happen anyway. God never pours out Himself in that way. He NEVER gives condemnation. The words “condemn” and “condemnation” appear in John 3:17 and Romans 8:1 to say it isn’t God’s nature. Yet, we adopt it as Him anyway. No, friend, COME UP HIGHER. If God asks you to pray, then what you pray is answered. He says it’s done. He’s the most consistently good Father. He exemplifies mercy and kindness.
We humanize Him, and yeah, Jesus is human. But He’s perfected. He never sinned, even in thought. There is no mocking, no argument, no condemnation in Him. He said, “The Father is greater (John 14:28),” so how much more good and kind is He? I can tell you A LOT MORE. He’s so funny, so genial. So generous. Anyone who paints Him as anger and wrath is WRONG. He buried wrath beneath the blood of Christ, who is the three of Them. “Christ” means “Anointed One”, and the anointing is the Father. It was for His sake, as well, that Jesus Christ, that meaning the Father as part of Christ, died. The whole of CHRIST is the Spirit at work. The Spirit cannot die but is infinite LIFE. For this reason, Jesus came to life again in a miracle of epic proportions.
Jesus’ body was mutilated beyond recognition. We know this from Isaiah 52:14, prophetic of Him. Isaiah 53:2 describes this as well. With stripes (bruises) and nails piercing His hands and feet, a sword which thrust into His side, He had so much disfigurement, not to mention the agony of His death. These things have been taught incorrectly. We like to sweep them under the rug, for the most part. A few have attempted to tell the truth, but most find it hard to take. We see it here, in this way, because Jesus’ healing is ours. God raised His body to perfection from a state of disfigurement and decay. How much less is anything we require? Jesus felt pain, was tortured in violence, and spiritual change happened. Physical healing was displayed. God says He delights to heal all who will ask.
“For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” (Matthew 7:8)
He delights to answer prayer and knows our level of knowledge and understanding, not reckoning it against us. He never refuses to answer for any of the reasons the church has put out there. If we have no faith or not much faith, God is merciful. If we’re asking amiss, meaning incorrectly, He answers. He is love. If we give up and don’t ask, He heals and saves because it is His Life in us. We see time limits. We see our level of pain. We listen to doubts on the lips of others around us. We feel fear. None of these stop Him but all of them affect Him.
You will not get a why-speech from me here, the one many give at this point to explain God’s motives. I want you to change your view. Stop staring at condemnation, drinking in condemnation. Stop leaning on enemy theology to be strong. Lean on Jesus’ love for you and the SO LOVE of the Father and the Spirit which healed Him. Lean on prayer as conversation with your wonderful Father, who made His Son human for our sake. Our Healer, Jesus Christ, is human. And know that God listens with the answer. It will come. You will see it. That’s who He is.
“Keep an open conversation with God and talk with him about everything, and no matter what your situation—be thankful, because God is for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18)
