God On Earth

"His being God is entirely the point."

JESUS CAME TO EARTH as the Son of God in order to reveal who God is, by doing acts only God could do. God is sovereign, a word misconstrued to say God can do anything He wants. And He can. And He did. But never by breaking His promises. He promised man salvation through sacrifice, so Jesus died as the Lamb of God to make the way to salvation. He said, "And with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5)." So because Jesus was healed, His wounds are our healing. His being God is entirely the point.

God sent God to earth to die as God and release God to live among us. Jesus is man. He was born of water and of blood (1 John 5:6). He walked in the fullness of the Holy Spirit when He served the Father. Meaning, He prayed (held conversation) and heard Their response. He knew things only because He listened. But He was here as God. Some have denied this to say He held nothing of God. This is true of the flesh. His power to heal was the Father's. But that was also what changed everything. He told His disciples He did the Father's works (John 14:10). But as Christ who is, who was, and who is to come (Revelation 1:8). He has always been and will always be the Christ. Nicodemus, the Pharisee, recognized this, we read in John 3. Only God could do the miracles He did.

“There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.” (John 3:1-2)

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” (Acts 10:38)

Humanizing gods, small g, has been a deception for eons. From the beginning, men chose to worship things they made. Our living God, the God of Israel, showed Himself to man again and again, only to be ignored. It comes down to arrogance, the pride of sin that causes any being to place itself and its choices as more important than God. That they know what to do and can do as they please, outside of God, is sin. This thought life kills, steals, and destroys (John 10:10).

Here, we must pause and say, "All sin is Satan's fault." And he exists and he has been rendered useless (Hebrews 2:14). Yet the church erects him constantly with its words. "The devil did this or that." He did not, but he is at fault (John 16:11). Devils also exist and torment some. I will not say many. Because they are the works of the devil which have been dissolved in Jesus' Resurrection (1 John 3:8). I hear remarks all the time of behaviors in humans which men say are devils. We need only ask the Spirit to know. I ask, and He answers. I pray, and He reveals Truth. This is why Jesus sent Him. We are safe in Him. We speak otherwise.

We condemn people who He adores, who He longs to show the Father's mercy, saying they are "headed to hell" or something similar. God is not violent. He judged no one with violence by Jesus' death. Jesus is the Judge (John 5:22), and He sacrificed Himself because He loved us. God's SO LOVE demands we SO LOVE. He is always overflowing in love and mercy. This is His character and personality. We should know Him this well, and stop making our human nature His way of being. We didn't make Him. He made us. And has now, through Jesus the Christ, who is God, drawn us back into His being, erasing sin which so easily deceives us, and filling us with His generous abundance.

Jesus came to be God among us forever. We are children of God because of Him.
