"JESUS changed everything."

DANIEL PRAYED and received both the dream and its interpretation (Daniel 2:19). The magicians, astrologers, sorcerers, and Chaldeans had angered the king with their refusal to "figure it out." Spiritually speaking, all those titles involved devils and not intelligence. There is no such thing as a human being spiritually perceptive outside of Jehovah.

There are facts about devils which apply here. One, they have none of God in them. So they have no wisdom or understanding. Most don't believe in Jesus. We see this in the Gospels. What they do know is humans are gullible and will somewhat easily believe a lie.

Devils also operate differently from humans. We humanize them, giving them sympathies and regrets, human behaviors, when they are not like us at all. They are all fallen created beings who chose to sin and so are absent of God. They have no goodness in them but supernatural behaviors we do not perceive. We simply don't think like them. And that's a good thing. But the descent of sin in both humans and devils is the same. Romans 1 describes this very well. Humans can behave like devils, but it is never forced behavior because of possession. The human will is survival, as we see in the Gadarene demoniac, who refused suicide which happened immediately to the pigs (Mark 5:13).

What fools some people, such as those in Daniel's story is devils often sound like our own thoughts. We're used to Hollywood renderings where an unclean spirit posseses a human and that person exhibits spasmodic behaviors. Or scenes like some in the Gospels, where a man's son, as he said, was thrown in the fire and the water (Matthew 17:15).

Then we have the sorceress who followed the apostle Paul. She kept crying out, "These men are from God," until one day, Paul had had enough and cast the unclean spirit out (Acts 16:18). What she said was True. Who spoke it sounded like her voice. The devil who spoke from the Gadarene sounded unlike him. Jesus asked the unclean spirit his name (They are all male. Woman was made for man.) to see if it were one devil making many voices or many devils. We know it was many because of the size of the herd. We also know the man wasn't mentally crazy because he fell down at Jesus’ feet and worshipped (Mark 5:6). His behavior that people noticed was survival.

But most often, those who traffic in spirits outside of Jehovah hear thoughts they assume are their own and believe themselves gifted. Devils can sound like me and you. But we must also know JESUS changed everything. Old Covenant behaviors of unclean spirits, and the devil himself, are finished. Jesus' Resurrection destroyed them (Hebrews 2:14, 1John 3:8). There can be no obstruction of the work of angels by them anymore, as was told to Daniel (Daniel 10:13). They cannot create life forms, as the magicians of Pharaoh did (Exodus 7:11,22; Exodus 8:7. They will never unite to destroy a human life like the Gadarene or even Mary Magdalene who was possessed of seven (Mark 16:9). They will not unite or organize to control nations, as some teach. This is not the meaning of Ephesians 6:12. That verse speaks of thoughts or ideas, such as abortion. It is a progressive worship of sin in some form.

Jesus is higher than any other name, government, or authority. He did not give us a spirit of fear but fills us with Resurrection power (2 Timothy 1:7). We must keep Him as Lord and not bow to myths and misunderstandings but be led of the Spirit, in peace, in wisdom, in patience and self-control. The character of God which devils have no access to. And we do.
