"SIN is the cause of downfall"

AS LONG AS God is living, the earth will stand, never failing. In His gaze, it is simple, not complex. And finished. Hath He not declared the ending as its completion? Completion, not destruction. His words to John as Revelation are meant to comfort. Prophesy is for edification, exhortation, and comfort (1 Corinthians 14:3). We see death. He speaks Life. We should automatically know we are wrong.

We have not the spirit of fear but a Spirit, capital S, of love, power, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Soundness of mind gives understanding. And love casteth out fear (1 John 4:18). We should know this about God.

We speak against Truth. Where the devil, meaning Satan, is concerned, especially. Satan is condemned. Not busy. It isn’t God vs. the devil. It never has been, especially not when Satan decided to exalt himself onto a throne higher than God (Isaiah 14:13). We see him as working against us. But what’s working against us is SIN. SIN is the devil as a roaring lion. SIN appears as an angel of light. We personify everything, that’s making things into beings. The human mind wants a figure to fight. There isn’t one. Satan exists. Jesus rendered him useless. Hebrews 2:14. This means we have no devil-being in our ear. There are fallen angels, unclean spirits. But the works of Satan, all he corrupted and caused to sin, are dissolved (1 John 3:8).

Where has this information been? And why have others not seen it? That’s just it. Many have. Then many more preach incorrectly and we don’t discern, or hear and understand, what they say. We see God’s Word as a sword and miss it is the Sword OF THE SPIRIT (Ephesians 6:17). It’s become our defense of ourselves and not God’s care for us. It is as we surrender to Him as Lord of us that we rest in His safety. Unclean spirits stir up violence and war. It is who they are now, their beings entirely absent of God. This makes them weak, not strong. But our sinful behavior, meaning our need to argue, criticize, and complain, our need to speak out how we feel, does the same in us. Truth is, SIN is the cause of downfall in both.

Jesus is our salvation. He isn’t theirs. There lies the difference.

We find peace in Him and refuse to stand on our own, absent of Him. Refuse to speak our minds but instead, speak in the Spirit. I cannot tell you how difficult that is in my own life at times. It is not doing what makes sense to me. And sometimes doing what doesn’t. But, in the end, looking back, it is always correct, and I can see it. God never leaves us without vision. We must stop confessing lack, and not strictly financial. Lack in patience. Lack in wisdom. Eve was deceived and said the tree of KNOWLEDGE in the garden looked WISE. She’d just said it was forbidden. And being deceived, she worshipped the tree and not Elohim.

Men do this a lot about stupid things. They bow before wood and stone, before ideas which grow into high places (Ephesians 6:12). There is one living God, the God of Israel, and He was specific with them about His worship so that none of it came from human ideas. Then see the words of Paul in 1 Corinthians 12. Amidst heavy idol worship in Gentile (non-Jewish) cities, he informed the young church what the manifestations of the Spirit were – So that they would not add to them. It’s the same thing.

Only Israel’s God is alive. And He has opened Himself to us, grafting us into His generous Spirit. All other gods, small g, are fake. They are nothing. Many can’t see it. And violence blinds others. To them it looks viable, like it’s deserved. It isn’t, and it won’t fix anything. Jesus fixed everything. He declared the end at the beginning and sees to it, today, that His Word is True. With no other need from us, just our trust. Here is where we rest. That He is longsuffering and faithful. That He is love. He has proven it.
