Israel. Jesus.

"We are given Jesus, in our hearts, to continually worship. He is Messiah."

THE BONDAGE of Israel:
  • Egypt is South.
  • Babylon is East.
  • Rome is West.

God brought them out of Egypt into the Promised Land. He brought them out of Babylon and returned them to the Promised Land. He brought all of mankind out of darkness, by dying at the hand of Rome and the condemnation of many in Israel, to give us the Promised Land.

  • Freedom from Egypt was covenant.
  • Freedom from Babylon was covenant.
  • Freedom in Christ is covenant.

God promised and kept His word. But what He did to create a nation didn’t look like the slavery of Egypt, didn’t look like the destruction of Babylon, nor the violence of Rome. Men wanted a violent conquest. They received a command to worship, a command to worship, and a command to worship. They left Egypt to worship Him in the desert. They returned to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple and restore worship. We are given Jesus, in our hearts, to continually worship. He is Messiah.

NOTHING was overnight:
  • 430 years in Egypt.
  • 40 years at Sinai.
  • 70 years in Babylon.
  • 400 years from Malachi to Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
  • 40+ to build the temple.
(Ex 12:40; Num 32:13; Jer 29:10; Jn 2:20)

It all took time. Time to build up. Time to tear down.
We think God is too slow. We want it NOW.

Out of the Holocaust came Israel. Six million Jews died and God kept covenant. He’s ever kept covenant with His people. But His way is not understood. What we think should be quicker is instead multiple years of time. Where we see suffering, and justly so, He knows endurance. Fortitude. Defiance. The weary soul fades. The defiant one multiplies.

Six million Jews died, but we know that they died. We mourn why they died and determine it will never happen again. And now, we have Israel. Same land as their forefathers, same mountains, same rivers, same lakes. Same language. Same covenant.

They hold to their words, to their worship. To their joy. Their symbolism. And a vision of freedom bathed in their God, who is Hashem. Who is our Jehovah. Jesus. He’s the King they worship, though not by proper name. He’s King of Jews. Gentiles. He’s Jew.

He died being Jew. He reigns being Jew. His ten disciples are Jew, Judas as well. We are, most of us, grafted in. Myself included. Although I saw Him seated atop Mt. Rushmore, scepter, crown. King of this Republic. King of Kings. We predict disaster. He refuses it a right to remain. From Noah to Abraham ran seedtime and harvest (Ge 8:22). From Egypt to Babylon came the same. And amongst Romans, still things grew and flourished. And today, we witness it. Righteousness brings peace. Isaiah 32:17.

No conquest of man or devils will conquer what He rules over. It is our misunderstanding, our wrong doctrine, that witnesses otherwise. We, His people in the church, don’t know Him. We’ll swing His weapon, say His name, but we don’t spend time with Him, in His Presence.

I have seen Him. I have spoken with Him. He is alive. Beautiful.
