Good News

THE EARTH and its nations are not in Satan’s control. The spread of godliness is actually in our favor and has been since the end of the flood. Here is God’s promise to this planet: “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease (Genesis 8:22).” This means crops, livestock, people will continue. God IS in control. We’ve simply indoctrinated ourselves with destruction. It has become our vision when God speaks otherwise.

“Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.” (Deuteronomy 28:3-6)

We see our view of the end in movies, books, children’s cartoons. Propaganda abounds with it. “We’re all doomed,” the news says daily. Hourly. Speaking their opinions and criticisms as news. We’ve seen the end of this earth predicted on film in millions of ways. All of it FALSE. Then there’s teaching of John’s Revelation, all of it incorrect. This word came to me from the Spirit one day. He urged me to read its gospel, for that’s what it’s meant to be – GOOD NEWS – and ended with this one important revelation. NO ONE INTERPRETS IT RIGHT.

Most, if not all, are in end-time-wars mode. AND THERE ISN’T GOING TO BE ONE. This I’m sure of because the God I know is patient and kind. Gentle, generous. Merciful. Lowly. He isn’t violent. When He could have descended from heaven and wiped Rome from the face of the earth, He didn’t. He submitted to it, even paying taxes He didn’t owe (Matthew 17:27). He told Pilate He could call for twelve legions of angels (Matthew 26:53). He didn’t do that though. The wrath of God we’ve pictured is our humanity. It’s how we would react. Jesus came to lay down His life, to die on purpose so that those He died for would never be in the place of wrath. What is that place? It’s where God is not. It’s that simple, and men have to try very hard to have God turn loose. Jesus even pleaded for the one prophesied to betray Him (Luke 22:42).

His salvation wasn’t through physical war, nor a spiritual one we must continually battle. We’re not able. Please hear God speak. Jesus has a glorious, abundant, triumphant victory. He died. Now, we live. There isn’t anything left to defeat. We’re swingin’ cardboard swords at a locked-up enemy. You heard me. Our biggest enemy today is ourselves, and for this, we need the Spirit’s Sword which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17). The devil which accuses us now, dressed like a lion, is our own thoughts.

We have all we need of God to renew our mind. And it is not self-effort but a process of the work of God in us. The Spirit of God is “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23 BSB). He is the reason why we know God is stronger. He is why we aren’t afraid of the end. Nor in knowing Him, predicting war. With the barest breath, He will remake the earth and all men and animals and plant life on it. He’s the reason it could be underwater in the flood of Noah’s day and survive. That was a year’s time, by estimate. Nothing should have lived. But He restored it and continued His will for us.

“And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.” (Genesis 8:11)

Where am I ending this? Stop giving the devil your attention. Stop giving him authority he never had. He’s the father of lies (John 8:44). When he told Jesus he’d give him “all the kingdoms of the world and their glory (Matthew 4:8),” HE WAS LYING. He had nothing to give and no intention to give it. This is the behavior of sin in anything, man or fallen beings. The lie is easy to speak. The intention to sin never alters.

The Spirit led Jesus there, so the Spirit was present. And Jesus knew who He was as Savior. His answers tell us this. He did not sin when He lived on the earth. He has no sin (Hebrews 4:15). He was not punished for sin. He, as Christ, lifted sin from us and carried it away forever (Isaiah 53:4-5, nasa, carried). We now have God WITH US, God IN US.

God is in control. He’s put the devil and devils in their place, beneath His authority (Ephesians 1:22), and spoken the end which He saw at the beginning.

“Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:” (Isaiah 46:10)

“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life you inherited from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or spot. He was known before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in the last times for your sake.” (1 Peter 1:18-20 BSB)

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” (Revelation 22:13)
