God IS Today

"He is uncontainable now by any man's unbelief."

JESUS CHRIST rose from the dead, and nothing would ever be the same. Nothing COULD ever be the same.

We, in the church, have looked at it from a "choose your covenant standpoint." But though you can choose to worship according to the Old Covenant (to a point, certain things no longer exist), nothing is the same. When the temple veil was rent in two, God changed.

Okay, God is the same always (Malachi 3:6). But in that moment, He came to dwell IN men. He was no longer in the temple, locked spiritually into the mercy seat. He no longer required sacrifices to forgive sins. Jesus fulfilled the Old Covenant (Matthew 5:17).

Again, we know this, but write it off like a finished board game. We think we never have to consider those plays again. When it is that WE CANNOT play those plays again. Even if we open the box and lay flat the board, even if we make the same moves, the rules no longer apply. Not that "anything goes now," but that Jesus is everywhere in everything. The Holy Spirit is working to draw all men to a revelation of the Truth, and nothing will ever shut Him down.

I made this statement today: God hears all prayers, even those to idols, and He answers where it will turn their eyes to Him. God is overflowing, a well of mercy. He does, on our behalf, things we don't know we need. Where modern doctrine says we must be saved, know faith, and pray correctly, or some combo of these, God is forever picking up our broken pieces and mending them.

Not as reglued pottery or broken, but usable, crayons, but brand new ones that we don't deserve. And here is Truth. Whether we are Gentile shards or finely crafted Jewish vases, of inestimable value, Jesus' Resurrection happened, and He is alive. A 21st Century Rabbi will see Him in ways that a Second Century Pharisee couldn't. A today, non-Jew will receive Him how, someone of that day, in a then far-flung town couldn't.

What God did through Old Covenant believers, like Noah, like Abraham, like Samuel the prophet, like King David, is not how GOD IS today. God is EMMANUEL, God WITH US, God IN US. And for those on the edge who cannot see Him clearly, He is God at work AMONG US. He is not exclusive to the Christian church. There is one way to heaven. Jesus is it. But He is Jew, the Moshiach they worship, G_d of their ancestors, now risen among them. He is Lord and King and, by revelation, Father. He is uncontainable now by any man's unbelief.

We don't have to go TO Him. He surrounds us. All people, of any nation, in any location on this globe are near Him. Just as the Holy Spirit hovered over the entirety of earth's waters. Then God said, "Light Be!" and Light was.
