| "We don't have His perspective." |
THERE WILL ALWAYS be let downs. How we react to them is key. Are we crippled because we didn’t get our way? Angry? Are we afraid of facing whatever the pressure is? Our emotions are what messes us up, and suddenly we don’t have peace. We’ve lost our joy. Going through a tough health situation where I couldn’t turn around showed me the truth of my feelings under pressure and the difference in God’s point-of-view.
First, that what we see and expect is all wrong. We don’t have His perspective.
This nation is one example. Four years ago, I had a vision of Jesus, as King of Kings, seated on a throne atop Mt. Rushmore. I have had no fears for American since then. I have learned, however, just how free of worry and stress He is over world events. He is a most humble, gentle King. He weeps and rejoices over His people Israel. He adores those fighting in difficult situations, those with a smile on their face where there should be a frown. He hates sin but loves the one whose thinking is sold out to it. He has a father’s heart for children. Put simply, He isn’t worried about the Good Ol’ USA at all. So why are we?
What we dwell on in our thinking is what will bother us. This is the source of our meltdowns. Since 2007, when fear consumed me, I have had many opportunities to let it back in, and I did a few times. I’ve had many others where I just kept going. I use myself as an example only so you can see it is possible with God living in us. That’s something we must see and tell those who are lost. Salvation isn’t just “hooking up with God” and so He helps us. No, He possess us.
That wording bothers some, but we talk about devilish possession. Before salvation, the spirit of man, the real you, is dead, and God is on the outside. When we invite Him to “live in our heart,” He comes in to live forever with us. He doesn’t simply plug us into His life, but He takes over. He fills us. And it’s supposed to be glorious! Easy. Peaceful. We never need to worry about our finances, our children, or our health. Minister Benny Hinn says healing is as simply as forgiveness. We hand our sins to Jesus and He removes them. In the same way, we hand our sicknesses to Him. “Here, Jesus, you take this leg pain. You take this heart condition.” I would add to never pick it back up again. Leave it in His Presence and live the wonderful long life that He died to give you.
Don’t expect the let downs. That’s another facet of a joyful life. It is possible to live well without there being any sudden sickness, no unforeseen accidents, not affected by the world’s chaos. God is trustworthy. How much trust are you willing to place in Him? He gets my 100%.
“And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.” (Isaiah 32:17)
“I give up everything this world has to offer so that I might be with Christ and be recreated in Christlike character—not from my own efforts or attempts to cure myself, not by observing some code, but by true re-creation of mind, heart and character that God accomplishes when we trust him. And this trust is established by the evidence of God’s supreme trustworthiness provided by Christ.” (Philippians 3:8-9, Remedy)
“By trust, which has been established on the evidence of God’s trustworthiness, we understand that the universe was created by God’s command, and what is seen was not made out of pre-existing materials.” (Hebrews 11:3, Remedy)
“If we believe God, we can be completely sure about things. We will be sure about the things that we hope for. We will be sure about things that we cannot see.” (Hebrews 11:1, EasyEnglish)
