STOP casting out devils to go bother other people. Go deeper in the Spirit, learn to dissolve them with your trust in Him. This is 1 John 3:8. To destroy means to dissolve. Jesus was manifested, a word derived from the Greek word “phos” meaning “light”, He was manifested to destroy or dissolve the works of the devil.
“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8)
We are meant to be closer to heaven than earth, where the supernatural is within our grasp. God is not stopping us from it. Instead, we are content in our places and unwilling to lay down all our preferences. He will let you pick them back up again but only when you know who He is, and most do not. He is not offended by us. Did the Shepherd go to recover the one lost sheep, or did He call it and become angry when it couldn’t figure out how to return?
We say, “God is mad because …” Because I didn’t pray correctly. Because I don’t have enough faith. Because I’m not smart or educated. Because I’ve seen too much stuff. Etcetera.
None of that affects His rescue. He never turns His back on those who won’t let go of the hem of His garment. Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). Let go of the flesh, submit yourself to Him, and trust Him for every single step. We must know Him so well that when we walk out the door, we know which way to go. Stop trying to FIGURE HIM OUT, GUESSING at what He’s saying. KNOW what He’s saying. This only comes through continual seeking. How deep do you want to be?
There are people’s behaviors on this earth that are so small and weak against the fullness of the Truth. What we justify to please our mind and our physical cravings, making excuses for, we simply cannot see in size and scope against Him. What were the worship of the Pharaohs, their obedience to what is witchcraft, when outlined by Him? God is all-powerful. They were a phantom puppet show. The Father would show us this. But we must lay down our desires and pick up His. How attached are you to your way of doing it?
What He says is wrong may feel good today, as is commonly said, but I want you to realize that even the work of devils is miniscule. Our weariness is huge to us in those moments, our sacrifice of time and entertainment and travel may make us say the wrong words, but do we want to see great and glorious heavenly things, or are we content with a brick wall and an advertisement?
“But, Suzanne, you don’t know what this suffering is like.”
No, I do. I have seen hell. I’ve talked with hell. And God is more than enough. More than we can ever think or imagine. In Genesis, the Spirit covered all the waters of the earth and not just a 6-foot square. In a day, twenty-four hours, He separated the sky from the land. He breathed His life into the dirt, and a man rose and walked and talked and thought on an intelligence scale we cannot fathom (Genesis 2:20). Jesus is God and knows all things, but He is human and so sets the example of what we are capable of when we cling to God. When we turn our faces toward Him and let go of us, relying on His strength, on the strength of the Holy Spirit, and the love of the Father who sent Him to rise again so we can stand beside Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6).
“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:” (Ephesians 2:6)
“How much more certainly shall the blood of Christ, who strengthened by the eternal Spirit offered Himself to God, free from blemish, purify your consciences from lifeless works for you to serve the ever-living God?” (Hebrews 9:14 WMTH)
