Trust, Love, and Obey

"In order for us to be whole, we must be emotionally stable."

OBEDIENCE is such a harsh word. Yes, God desires obedience but not at the expense of our joy. So many times I see obedience referred to as opposite of the emotions. Relationship with the Father, with Jesus, and Papa, the Holy Spirit, is taught the same. Also, teachings on faith. But faith is trust in His love for you (Galatians 5:6), and it cannot be accessed without your feelings. In order for us to BE WHOLE, we must be emotionally stable, meaning we feel things as we are designed to.

Devils (which has the Word evil in it) play on the emotions, striving to get them out of line. They want us angry and depressed, confused and frustrated. God wants us at rest.

Here's a truth Papa has pressed upon me. We, in the church, need to let go of warfare. We've held our sword in place of the sword of the Spirit. The Word is His, not ours. We spout the Scriptures "in the flesh", out of wrong thinking and frustration, and teach others to fight what has been de-feeted. God wants us to lean on Him.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)

“May God himself, the heavenly Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, release grace over you and impart total well-being into your lives.” (Ephesians 1:2 TPT)

Hebrews 4 speaks of rest. TODAY, we are given peace to sustain us (Hebrews 4:7), and that peace, that shalom, or well-being, is God living in us. Jesus won the war, and we are asked to walk in His victory. Instead, we've erected a throne the devil never had. Jesus' death was Satan’s judgment. Satan sits useless now (Hebrews 2:14). He has no authority; he never did. All he had was the ability to fight back, which was removed by the Spirit.

Knowing God is IN ME, knowing devils are de-feeted, I can rise every day and walk in God without fearing what snake or lion might be in my path (Psalm 91:13) That's the point of freedom in God. It's how I can obey and why I'm at rest.

“Thou shalt tread safely on asp and adder, crush lion and serpent under thy feet.” (Psalm 91:13 Knox)

“You can safely meet a lion or step on poisonous snakes, yes, even trample them beneath your feet!” (Psalm 91:13 TLB, 1971)
