| "He loves all people. Every one of us is His personal care." |
DON’T SEEK public opinion. Seek the Spirit. Don’t expose men to public view. Seek the Spirit’s view. When we walk in the Spirit, hearing Him, we won’t walk in the flesh, making errors in judgment and forgoing mercy for hatred (Galatians 5:16). Our opinion doesn’t matter. Public opinion crucified Jesus. Religious men, schooled in the Scriptures, saw the miracles of God on a massive scale and instead of rejoicing, grew angry and plotted murder, calling it legal judgment. Present the Scriptures with the love of God. With encouragement. Pray for men’s salvation not their destruction. Prophesy good (1 Corinthians 14:3)
.
“But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.” (1 Corinthians 14:3)
Jesus prayed for Peter to not deny Him. He urged Peter to pray to overcome his flesh (Matthew 26:40-41). He prayed to the Father for another way besides Judas’ betrayal (Matthew 26:39). He warned His disciples of their attitudes during arrest and execution. Matthew 26:31, “All ye shall be offended because of me this night,” and spoke peace to them. John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.” Meanwhile, we’re seeking mental affirmations, people’s YES, instead of laying down all we are, our way of doing things, and picking up His cross.
“We have a lot more to say to you about these things. But we can only explain things to you with difficulty because you understand so slowly. After all this time, you ought to be teachers, but you are not teachers. Instead, you need someone to teach you the first lessons about God’s message again. You have become like babies, who need milk instead of proper food. Anyone who has to drink milk is still a baby. That person does not know what is right. They do not know when they are doing something wrong.” (Hebrews 5:11-13, EasyEnglish)
The church is not a competition. It’s a family. It isn’t a news channel. It’s God’s Truth. And there is much He does not say because we are too immature to hear it and keep silent (Hebrews 5:11-13). We speak out-of-turn and call it boldness. We speak arrogantly and call it ambition. At all times, in all situations, God’s heart must be our greatest desire and our will nothing at all. Jesus learned this, living on the earth, and He submitted even His physical life to God, willingly dying to save us. Think about that. He died for thousands, for millions and billions and trillions, of unborn people of every culture. He knew my name when He died. He knew yours.
This isn’t just a quip, something repeated often. Every man and woman on this planet is known by Him in infinite detail. Though we can’t fathom this, it is Truth. He knows every devilish being, when they were created and how they sinned and what they’ve been doing. He knows all prayers, all families, even those in disarray. He loves all people. Every one of us is HIs personal care. What He’s said to me of things in my life, things that no one knows, forever changed my thoughts about God. We know He knows, but we don’t really KNOW IT.
We should represent Him, should be like Him, thinking like Him, reacting like Him, and stop saying, “But that’s Jesus,” as a way to act however we want. That Jesus, my Jesus, rose from the dead, a humble man, crowned King without a crowd or fanfare. “Who am I? and what is my life? (1 Samuel 18:18)” His Greats-Grandfather David asked. We picture it differently. We picture Him glorying in it to the detriment of those He defeated. We’re wrong. “Blessed are thet that mourn: for they shall be comforted (Matthew 5:4).” The Father mourned the destruction of Israel in Jeremiah’s Lamentation, and asks us to mourn those in sin, to pray peace for all nations, instead of reveling in chaos and calling it His will.
“The Son shines with the bright light that comes from God. The Son’s nature is a copy of God’s nature. He shows us completely what God is like. The Son’s powerful word causes everything in the world to continue. The Son himself made it possible for us to be clean from everything that we do wrong. After he had done that, he sat down in heaven. He sat at the right side of God, who is the greatest ruler, with all authority.” (Hebrews 1:3, EasyEnglish)
“I want you to know that everything given by God is always good, beneficial, and profitable. Make no mistake—that is what God always habitually and perpetually gives. Even more, absolutely everything bestowed on us by Him never subtracts from our lives; rather, what he gives adds to our lives. It advances us, completes us, matures us, and perfects us. This is categorically what comes from heaven—and it comes pouring down from the life-giving Father, whose specialty is light that dispels death and darkness. I want you to know that if you draw near to Him, you’ll discover that with Him, there is absolutely no inconsistency on the question of what He gives and what He never gives. For on this issue, He never changes. God is not like the shadow on a sundial that's constantly changing because the sun’s position is always changing and moving. On the contrary, on the question of what God gives and what He never gives, His position is so fixed that it never even budges.” (James 1:17, Renner Interpretive Version)
