God's People

"Our heart should be His heart."

THERE IT WAS on the wall, all the names Jesus is, and in front of it, a crowd of Jewish men of all ages dancing over Him in celebration. The Christian church knows basically ba-zilch about Jewish beliefs. We know what we’ve read and self-interpreted in the Bible, and what we’ve seen in a few videos online. We may even have a friend who says, “Hey, I’m Jewish,” but at that, we stop. I’m not going to pretend I know what those men were celebrating, and I was a bit peeved there were no women involved, not a single one, yet I was stuck on those words.

They pray to the living God, scripturally correct, but won’t call Him by name. They believe in His name but not in His actual name. You get my drift. And we criticize. But they’re not sa-aved. (Please read that with a whine.) But they’re worshiping Jee-hooo-vaah. (My reply in a similar tone.) I’ve heard ministers say their prayers go nowhere. Brakes. Let’s back up on those to paragraph 1 …TheChristichurchknowsbasicallybazilchaboutJewishbeliefs … (speeds up) … Oh, here it is, “There it was on the wall, all the names Jesus is.” Rabbi. Messiah. They leapt with joy for their Messiah, and that is a wonderful, glorious thing that should never be negated. You can’t undo the past. You can’t take away their covenant. I read it in Isaiah, so beautifully put, and it ends with words which stick here perfectly.

Isaiah 65:24 says, “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Now, is that God speaking or the wind? Oh wait, He is the wind. And an earthquake or a fire, but in this case a whisper.

In another video, they cleaned out the written notes, the prayers to YHWH crammed in the cracks of the wailing wall. Millions of them. And the Spirit spoke, saying He knew them all. All. He knows every prayer prayed to every statue, every block of wood, every tree, every mirror. Saved or unsaved, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, confused, He’s heard every word spoken, and His heart is always to answer. Our heart should be His heart. His people should be treasured by us.

Isaiah 65:19-25
(19) “And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
(20) There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
(21) And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
(22) They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
(23) They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
(24) And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
(25) The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.”
