| "They are part of our conversation with God." |
“My friends, I want you to understand about those gifts that God’s Spirit gives to us.” (1 Corinthians 12:1 EasyEnglish)
WE’VE TAKEN the gifts (manifestations) of the Spirit and made them into ordained minister achievements. Only those with papers and education will be selected for their use. Additionally, we’ve defined them and separated them to be individualistic when they are meant to work together. Nowhere does it say only someone with a calling into a ministry office will ever use one of them. In Truth, anyone filled with the Holy Spirit is eligible, if you need to put it that way. I prefer to say they are part of our conversation with God.
This is prayer. Prayer has been adorned. It is indeed a precious, sacred time, but it is not a set amount of time nor a set of defined behavioral steps. It is conversation. We are meant to talk to God and to hear Him reply all day, every day. Praying in the Spirit, having what is called “tongues”, or I prefer to say God’s language, is our gift so that in times where we have no idea how to pray the Spirit prays for us the perfect will of God (Romans 8:26). I love this. I don’t have to figure it out first or understand it fully, only trust Him. Here is prayer without fear. It is only understood through the Spirit that evil has no access to.
The use of the gifts of the Spirit is available to all of God’s children, no matter what age, education, culture, or understanding. Anyone can hear from Him and use what knowledge He gives to help others. No one He speaks to has to stop first and decide what gift it is. All are anointed for the Spirit’s use. He looks for willing hearts, for humble hearts, for those who trust Him and know His love for all men. I have said this in many places, but when you truly know God’s SO LOVE that sent Himself here to die, you will not have any problems loving people. You will be overwhelmed with it.
“You yourselves really want the gifts that come from God’s Spirit. That is good. But the best gifts are those that will help the church (group of Christians) to become stronger. So, want those gifts more than any other gifts.” (1 Corinthians 14:12 EasyEnglish)
