| "By focusing our attention on Him, we no longer see the troubles around us." |
IT HIT ME. With all the negativity around me, the one positive thing I could focus on is worship. I'm tired of thinking about disaster, either personal or national. It's like everywhere I turn something awful stares me in the face. In searching for a happy thought, my mind turns always to Jesus. Of course. But this time, the revelation of it hit me. Praise is a happy thought. For He is alive and King and He loves me. My Savior, my Father, and My Papa, the Spirit, are purity, without fault, no lies, no half-truths, and 100% faithful. They always keep Their Word. You can't get more positive than that. And it's not that They WON'T lie, but that They CAN'T. Frankly, I don't understand worshipping anything wishy washy and apt to lie. What's to worship then?
Worship is meant for those who deserve honor, for the venerable. This is a King James Translation word in Philippians 4:9. Jesus deserves honor. He did what no one else could do. It's not just that God needed a sacrifice, but that He had to be sinless, and the blood without defect. Only God could die and be the spotless Lamb. It's mind blowing really because He didn't sin in thought either. He gave to God, knowing He is God, all His will, even to His death. I said this earlier, about staring death in the face, and knew some would find that flippant. It wasn't meant to be. I speak in the Spirit, by His unction. To give in to death before your time is to give death permission to hold your attention, and it shouldn't hold any attention at all. Even if what you have is terminal. So was mine, and I am completely healed. I gave God time to work and waved goodbye to death.
Jesus did the same, and He actually died. But not in fear or submission to death. Death is actually our enemy now. Not the devil, who is rendered useless and his works are completely dissolved (Hebrews 4:12;1 John 3:8). We will die physically until the Holy Spirit remakes our planet, as stated in Romans 8:21. It will be glorious! No creature here is lost. Old Fido is in heaven. If God so cares for the sparrows, as it says in Matthew 10:29, then He cares for Fido and Meowser. He cares for you, and you care for them. That being a side note. Point is, Jesus did not fear death. He knew it and welcomed it. This is a tough topic for some who have lost family, but death isn’t supposed to be awful and frightening and full of sickness and infirmity. The Word says the prophet Moses had all His mental and physical faculties, including His eyesight (Deuteronomy 34:7).
God judges no one for their life’s end. He loves people and prepared heaven for people. We must “raise the stakes”, as is said, and determine to trust Him for a glorious life’s ending, full of joy and without sorrow. We must rejoice that that person has met our Savior face-to-face, and praise Him each and every day for His goodness, His perfection, and infinite kindness. By focusing our attention on Him, we no longer see the troubles around us, and things automatically get better!
“Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” (Revelation 5:12)
Worthy: characterized by usefulness or importance, as to the world, to a person, or for a purpose (Dictionary.com)
