| "Peace was the answer." |
“For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” (1 Peter 1:24-25)
To become a FOREVER, you have to be a TEMPORARY. For we are as grass which fades, the flower which falls, but the Word of God abides forever. The devil was a FOREVER who became a TEMPORARY. Sin did that. Sin stole FOREVER from him. He doesn’t care. That’s sad to me because FOREVER is amazing, filled with wonder and awe.
God regrets the death of His messengers. He told me this, and frankly, I thought, “Why?” Then that I didn’t really care. But He wouldn’t turn loose of it, over the next few weeks and months, and I realized how precious this is to Him. We don’t care. We just want to swing our sword and shut him (the devil) up. We want to cast unclean spirits out and rejoice in it, and He allows this because freedom matters. It is the reason Jesus came as an infant to live and die on the TEMPORARY. Freedom is FOREVER. But God knows each devil, fallen angel, if you will. He knows them by name and station. (The archangel Gabriel has a name. The warring angel, Michael, has a name.) Point is, He regrets who they have become. They were made out of the love and peace of God. They have nothing but malevolence and hate now. They are TEMPORARY.
Romans 1 in the Remedy Translation has a description of the evil man which also applies to devils and unclean spirits. It is sobering to read. It is lengthy but says, in essence, that the degradation of the mind comes from continual wrong thinking. What begins as a single thought, after dwelling on it, repeating it over and over again, becomes something which governs you, and eventually, you are happy behaving in that manner and willing to defend it, though it is killing you. You can’t see it. That’s the problem. Devils and unclean spirits, especially the devil himself, can’t see where they are at, in the scale of things. They aren’t rulers of darkness, as stated in Ephesians 6. They are ruled by darkness, which is not the same thing.
“They deceived themselves and claimed to be wise but were actually fools who lost the ability to discern the right from the wrong, the healthy from the unhealthy, the true from the false,” (Romans 1:22, Remedy)
“Although they know God’s righteous law—to love others before oneself—and realize their lifestyle leads only to death, they not only persist in their self-destructive ways, but throw parties and give awards to others who practice them.” (Romans 1:32, Remedy)
Ephesians 6 has been described by some as levels of “the devil’s soldiers”, but it is not a devilish army that we fight. It is the thoughts we think. Satan has no soldiers. He has no kingdom, as I said, and rules only because men give into the sin he perpetuated in them. He wanted men to sin. The Scripture doesn’t say why, but we can suppose it is because sin consumes him. Every sin that has ever been committed is his fault, and he has been judged for it. This is not the purpose of this Truth of the Spirit, I pen here. But it had to be said. Because God is ETERNAL. He is FOREVER, and He bids all men to join Him in heaven.
We must let go of the TEMPORARY, our anger and wrath, hatred of people, and pick up the ETERNAL PEACE that is God’s nature. I asked Him why angels can stand in the same place for so long, and peace was the answer. They are peaceful and joyful and dedicated, the nature of God, and we are made in God’s image to be peacemakers (Matthew 5:9). There is no reason on this TEMPORARY earth to ever get in an argument when you walk in the Spirit. Just today, I heard an excellent minister say peace is our lifestyle, worship is our daily posture. It is our mindset. I would add, if we choose a life lived in a posture of worship, in continual conversation with God, we won’t get angry. Jesus is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), and that is peace with all things and not just being reborn in the spirit. It’s peace of mind for our entire life, from here into ETERNITY.
And that is my heart’s desire. I’ve had enough warring with my head. I choose to place my thoughts in the Spirit’s hands and to repent where I’ve gone astray. Sin is no longer a constant battle to those washed in Jesus’ shed blood. He isn’t in the distance but lives in me, lives in all who accept His work on the cross, SO THAT we can hold constant conversation. Continual laughter. A river of joy, born of the Spirit and rippling FOREVER within.
“Do all in your power to stay united with the Spirit in promoting the principles of truth and peace.” (Ephesians 4:3)
“For the person who wants to love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. He must turn away from evil and do good. He must seek peace and pursue it.” (1 Peter 3:10-11 ISV)
