Flawless

"God has no flaws."

God is HOLY. This is common knowledge, but the import of it has been lost. We read its cry in John’s Revelation, where angels and worshipers call out, “Holy, Holy, Holy.” We know it is Truth. But why is it praise? Does it really matter if God is seen as holy or not? It is actually the most important Truth of our loving, living God. We must know Father, Son, and Spirit are the only Gods. All others are the products of men’s imagination and have flaws. What man has created in his desire to worship is always human-like. Zeus, Apollo, and all other Roman and Greek gods have anger issues, lusts, and favoritism. Multiple gods do not get along with each other and so fight and war incessantly.

Not so, our God. They are in perfect unity, at complete peace with Themselves and with mankind. They are not at war with the devil nor devils nor unclean spirits. It is incessantly said the devil speaks in men’s ears. This is completely false. 1 John 3:8 tells us Jesus destroyed or dissolved the works of the devil. Hebrews 2:14 says Jesus destroyed or made useless the one who had the power of death, that one being Satan. According to those two verses alone, though they are many others in proof, there is nothing to Satan at all. So we must remove him from the blame game. Sin and death and all that comes from sin and death, including all forms of disease and illness, are his fault. Don’t misunderstand me, and there are devils that beguile men and torment them, but they are the works of the devil which have been dissolved.

I could go on here, but it is not my point. I want to explain why holiness is so important. To understand, you must accept God has no flaws. This is what holiness is. It is purity of thought and action. In short, He makes no mistakes. He never breaks a promise. To do so would make Him unholy, which is ridiculous. He is forever holy and is never unholy. This is especially true of our Savior, and I say it this way because He never sinned as a human living on earth, subject to our like passions. He never sinned, not even in His thoughts and meditations. This is interesting to me because twelve-year-old Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, and it took Joseph and Mary, His parents, three days to find Him, four if you count a day’s walk back to Jerusalem. Then when they discovered Him in the temple, He gave what reads as a sarcastic reply. “How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business (Luke 2:49)?” Understanding He spoke Aramaic and that is King James’ era English. Still, you’d think that would be sin, but we know it wasn’t.

“Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:” (1 Peter 2:22)

“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15)

“And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.” (1 John 3:5)

So what has God promised that He cannot break His Word? The answer is EVERYTHING. He has promised us all we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3) “Salvation” is a comprehensive word. The Greek root word “sozo” includes safety, rescue from danger or destruction, salvation from suffering, which includes disease. It means to restore to health (G4982). Interestingly enough it is the root word for the phrase “sound mind” used in 2 Timothy 1:7, which tells us the Holy Spirit does not give us fear, but He is “power, love, and a sound mind.”

We cannot blame doubt on Him. He is what grows fruit in our lives (Galatians 5:22-23). He is the healing of our weaknesses, we read in Romans 8:26. We are made strong because He is within us. He can come upon us, and I encourage you to allow Him to come upon you, why wouldn’t you want ALL OF HIM? But that said, if He is upon us, then we speak like heaven, and it cannot be understood by devils or unclean spirits, who are not holy. There is the Truth. They lie and steal and kill and destroy. They rob men of their self-control, causing them to defend themselves. Whereas, time and time again, Jesus restored men’s self-control, their ability to choose and find peace. The Gadarene demoniac is our greatest example. Men saw him healed and in his right mind. But also, Jesus healed entire multitudes, giving clear proof of the Father’s heart for us.

And He is holy. They are holy. They cannot and will not ever change. What a beautiful blessed thing. They are always, forever faithful in Their actions, in Their intent for us, but also in Their honesty and Truth.

“Praise Yahweh with the glory his name deserves. Come before him with offerings to give to him! Bow down and worship Yahweh because he is holy and his holiness shines out from him with wonderful beauty.” (1 Chronicles 16:29 UDB)

“The LORD continually does what is right, executing justice for all who are being oppressed.” (Psalms 103:6 ISV)
