Because Jesus

"Also understand, Jesus has now destroyed, completely dissolved, the works of the devil ..."

YOU CAN’T make a deal with devils. They will make promises with no intention or ability to keep them. It is our believing the lie that causes us to be deceived. Maybe, just maybe, this time they will reform. No, they can’t. In this I am speaking of unclean spirits and devils which oppress and possess people, of their nature itself. It applies to men’s behavior, though, those who have given themselves to them. Who would knowingly give the devil himself a second chance? This is pure foolishness.

Jesus, when confronted by the devil in the wilderness (Matthew 4), knew the truth of that scoundrel’s false promises. Men have seen this story incorrectly. First, remember Jesus had been baptized by John in the river and was filled without measure with the power and Presence of the Holy Spirit. Then, we are told the Spirit led him into the wilderness to be tempted. So Jesus wasn’t alone, had all the wisdom and power of God in Him and upon Him. The devil’s vision, therefore, (and they were all visions given by the devil), but specifically, the promise to give Him all the kingdoms of this earth if He’d just bow down and worship him, was as false as they come. The devil had no authority to make this promise. That was a lie. He had no kingdoms to give Jesus. Also a lie. And no intention to do it. Another lie. What men believed about the power of darkness is what gave power (authority) to darkness. It was not possible for the devil to steal man’s dominion. Because Jesus. Also understand, Jesus has now destroyed, completely dissolved, the works of the devil (1 John 3:8), so he has no power (authority) over us at all, when we walk in Christ.

If you give devils and unclean spirits the opportunity to steal, kill, and destroy, they will gladly do it. They are consumed by evil, being alienated from the power and Presence of God. Any friendship man thinks they have with them is a lie. Anyone who does not have Jesus as Lord, and chooses not to be saved, not being “in Christ” as I said a moment ago, may have good intentions in denying powers to darkness, they don’t think or act that way, but the Word of God is clear. If you are not washed in the work of Jesus Christ, cleansed of sin by His shed blood, the gift He made of His death and Resurrection, then you are condemned already.

“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:18)

This is not a treatise against people. We are not fighting against flesh and blood, then again, for those who serve the devil or one of many devils, either in foolishness or ignorance, we are, and no politics can fix it or alter it.
