| "Our merciful God is victorious over all of His opponents, human or spiritual." |
DON'T SPECULATE. Hear the Holy Spirit speak. Don't reason it out in your head. Know for sure. God does not do guesswork. He speaks clearly, in sentences. He does use symbols, but He always explains their meaning. We've latched hold of supposed meanings and applied their usage too liberally without seeking Him for what He wanted to say. The prophetic is highly guilty of this. Prophecy is meant to edify, exhort, and comfort (1 Corinthians 14:3). What the Holy Spirit says will be clear in its meaning.
Who wants to guess at God? I want to KNOW HIM so well that I have not a single doubt about Him, not in WHO HE IS nor WHAT HE SAYS. Manmade gods have character flaws. Our God, the Hebrew God, doesn't. He is called this in the Old Testament, and it holds great meaning. That He is the God of Israel means "of Jacob", specifically, and includes Abraham and Isaac, his grandfather and father. “God of the Hebrews” goes outside of physical boundaries. Jonah told the ship workers he was running from the God of the Hebrews, and they were afraid (Jonah 1:9-10). So much so that, eventually, at his suggestion, they tossed him overboard. In Exodus, Jehovah is called the God of the Hebrews as well. There, it is to show Him as all-powerful in the face of great witchcraft. We all know how that ended, with Pharaoh and his army at the bottom of the Red Sea. Our merciful God is victorious over all of His opponents, human or spiritual.
I mentioned the story of Daniel's fast yesterday. This story has been used by New Covenant Christians to incorrectly show spiritual warfare. Once again, we aren't in a spiritual war. Jesus is King. He destroyed all the works of the devil (1 John 3:8) and holds the keys of hell and death (Revelation 1:18). He's above all authority (Ephesians 1:21). There are no more battles in heaven or the heavenlies. God conquered those against Him.
For us. So we could become one with Him. In me, lives the Eternal One. We are not two separate beings. There is no place where He ends and I begin. There is no starting and stopping point. I am meant to know Him that well. We are meant to know Him that well. In constant communication. Continual. I should know Him so well I have only trust in His care of me. Like a bride knows her husband. We are in love and inseparable.
“And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.” (Revelation 19:16)
“Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?” (Matthew 25:53)
