Eyes Of Love

"But, know this, we use His name because we adore Him and He loves us."

DEVILS OR unclean spirits will always make the wrong choice. This does not excuse them from the consequences, or judgment, of it, nor does their being flippant and “finding it funny,” as we might say. There is judgment against sin from any thinking being, human or supernatural. Romans 1 in the Remedy Translation paints a vivid picture of sin in humans, but it also applies to those in darkness, such as devils and unclean spirits. There comes a point when they have numbed themselves to truth, to goodness, so much they glory in their own death. This is not God’s way, but it is the self-imposed judgment of those beings with that mindset and behavior. They “do it to themselves,” so to speak.

“They have become filled with every kind of selfishness, wickedness, evil, greed, and lustful perversion. They think only about themselves and are jealous of others, they destroy anyone who gets in their way, they lie and cheat and exploit, they spread rumors and gossip, they destroy reputations and hate God and everything for which he stands, they deny creation and call those who trust God “fools,” they are arrogant, proud and boastful, they constantly think up new ways to do evil and disregard authority by following their own impulses, they call their parents “fools” and reject their guidance, they are unreasonable, irrational, mean-spirited, hard-hearted, and they trust no one.” (Romans 1:29-31, Remedy)

God is often blamed for what happens to those who don’t repent in a sincere heart. People label it “wrath” and excuse God for it. There IS a wrath of God, or rather, there WAS. But it is now under the blood of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. God is peace and comfort. He comforts us so we can comfort others with His peace that is within us (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). There is no peace in the wicked, whether that is humans or devils (Isaiah 48:22; Isaiah 57:21). Devils, or unclean spirits, are choked with the fear and violence they push on humans. They are confused and lonely beings without the physical nature required to live fully on the earth.

I say this not to cause you to take pity but so that you will know why they do what they do. They are fully without any of God’s nature and have only the barest essence of His life to exist. Unable to find peace, unable to think good of any other being, they deal with their negative thoughts and inability to survive here by accosting humans. It’s like being totally ignored by everything in existence and not having any recourse or way to be anything else. It is not how they were made, so there will never be any overcoming it, no “getting out of it” we’d say.

The only rescue they have is the mercy of God who is disinclined to do so except for the truth that He is love in its highest form, and they were created from Him. These are truths from the Word. 1 John 4:8. Colossians 1:16. So what do we, as children of God, do with these things? We walk in the Spirit and grow closer to Him in our relationship, so close that we hear His thoughts and know His ways. Then we do His work, not from ourselves alone, but from the power of God and the authority of Jesus’ name. But, know this, we use His name because we adore Him and He loves us.

Authority over the spirit world is not given to us just because we are saved, but because we represent Him. And that does not come to newborn infants but only as we mature in the things of God and in our relationship with Him. So we commit to growth, setting down the things of immaturity, and roll the care of our footsteps over onto the Spirit. He heals our minds of bad thinking patterns and changes our point-of-view from a manward view to God’s view. We see through the eyes of love now and not retribution and vengeance.

Here is where some would quote, “God is our vengeance.” But God’s vengeance is mercy. Do you get that? THERE’S NO HATE IN HIM. Yes, He hates sin. But that is sin in an action, not the one who sinned. Sinful actions, done willfully and without shame, will bring death, death in the spirit, and death of the spirit. Those are two separate things. John’s Revelation tells us death has an end (Revelation 21:4). This moment will be the finality of all sin. The devil and devils and those committed to sin will no longer exist.

There will not be eternal torment. That is a misunderstanding of events.

It is also out of our human hands but is in God’s timing. He has set it in order. What we are told to do today is to be led of God, to be one with Him, united in nature, so that there is no place where He ends in us and no place where we begin, but we are so much together that we cannot be separated.

“For just as [because of their union of nature] in Adam all people die, so also [by virtue of their union of nature] shall all in Christ be made alive.” (1 Corinthians 15:22 AMPC)

Only He knows the thoughts and intents of our hearts and no one and nothing else. What comfort this is. He understands who we are and how we think and knows us down to even our life in the womb. We are like Him, as human flesh. We are in His image, as spiritual. We became, on this earth, “a living being—an individual personality.” Jesus the Christ “became a life-giving Spirit—restoring the dead to life (1 Corinthians 15:45 AMPC).”

“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.” (John 1:3-4)

“And just as we have borne the image [of the man] of dust, so shall we and so let us also bear the image [of the Man] of heaven.” (1 Corinthians 15:49 AMPC)
