"Unity is at the heart of God's design." |
PROPHECY is not a culture. Church is not a culture, for that matter. For anything to become a culture implies it is its own organism, distinguishable, yes, but one which cannot be entered. It removes from the church and from prophecy what sustains it – Jehovah. Jesus didn’t come to earth to create a culture, nor an organism. We aren’t an educational system with a graduation program. I get the need for these, and I support them. But there are many who have something to say, spoken by God through them, who have not graduated from a college, earned a degree, and been ordained. We cannot afford to neglect these.
We aren’t here to “make disciples.”
The word “disciples” means “learners,” but the church, by and large, has turned it into numbers of successes. Our commission is to “go ye” into the world and “make disciples,” but that statement is not supposed to be minus spreading the love of God to hurting people. We should be a generous, forgiving family who speak to other’s daily needs.
We are not here to flex our spiritual arm. Or decorate our wallet.
Don’t get me wrong. God knew what the church would become because HIS POWER or ANOINTING is in it. He knew it would involve buildings and structures and discipleship programs (meaning classes for teaching eager learners). He knew “go ye” would require money and people with hearts dedicated to actual physical cultures. But He wasn’t trying to turn us into one.
Prophecy should never be separated from Him. It only “is” because “of” Him. Old Covenant prophets were anointed by the Spirit (who is the anointing) to speak the words God gave them to those they were placed among. New Covenant prophets are not separate from the church, but like those in the church, they are one with Him, united as members. He is the Head, and we are the body (Ephesians 1:22). Those to whom Old Covenant prophets spoke were not part of Jehovah, although that was His heart’s desire, fulfilled in Jesus Christ. He is within us now and speaks directly to us. Through the Word of God (He is the Word) and the ministry offices, each anointed for their purpose, and through the spiritual gifts. These are not meant to be delineated so that they elevate one person over another. They are only described individually so that we see UNITY. UNITY is at the heart of God’s design.
Of God’s character. Father, Son, and Spirit are ONE. There is one body, one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, “one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all (Ephesians 4:6).” He was creating a marriage. A family.
Children are representations of their parents. They can only be who they are because of his DNA and her DNA. There is no changing this. Upon salvation, the Seed of God is placed within us, that Seed being Christ, the Three-In-One. It cannot be removed, except from outright rebellion. If one does as Judas did and turns his back on truth, denying the Spirit whom he has known and worked within, true violent denial, then he is lost.
I am not here to debate what is often called the unpardonable sin but want you to know of it in the light of the love of God which unites us in belief in the Son of God who prophesied of His death and Resurrection before His arrest, yet those following Him feared instead of finding comfort in His words. God never brings fear (2 Timothy 1:7). His will is not for us to tremble and squeeze our hands saying, “Now what do we do?” He speaks to bring comfort so that when events unfold, we know the process of them. He never speaks in condemnation. NEVER.
Mother’s Day, I read words of condemnation against those without children. What is meant to be a holiday to celebrate motherhood includes any who have mothered children through birth and adoption or fellowship programs. And any who have fostered creatures, who were nurtured by them to grow and mature. Many, many of God’s animals would be dead if not for dedicated mothers. I speak this from the Spirit, not from myself. All God’s creatures long for deliverance from this world’s death and decay, it says in Romans 8. These words were spoken from the heart of God in the apostle Paul’s day and are as applicable in ours. But speaking of this, what concerns me is not just the neglect of people’s hearts, but that the love of God for one another was set aside. Our words should NEVER bring condemnation. They are not meant to cause wounds.
God prophesies truth. We seek truth. We do not seek prophecy. We need to test the words of prophets and prophecies and refuse to fall into patterns of speaking which have become familiar (1 John 4:1). Terms and lingo of prophecy should reflect God’s heart in that moment and not seek attention. We are not in a war. We are told to rest. Yes, we are given warning of the craftiness of devils, but we are told to submit to God first and that is resistance (James 4:7). The resisting comes in our submission, the only true form of suffering which God allows, and in our standing firm and holding fast with the Word of God in our mouths and our hands in His.
Here is a picture of the family of God, a much better way of saying “church.” He loved us first, then we saw Him and loved Him in return. His love grows in us, and we are like Him now, willing to give our all to save people, through what we say, anointed by Him, and what we do that exemplifies it.
“But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.” (1 Corinthians 14:3)
“Dear friends, don’t believe all people who say that they have the Spirit. Instead, test them. See whether the spirit they have is from God, because there are many false prophets in the world.” (1 John 4:1 GW)
THE WITNESS OF GOD
1 John 4:12-15 BBE “No man has ever seen God: if we have love for one another, God is in us and his love is made complete in us: 13 And his Spirit which he has given us is the witness that we are in him and he is in us. 14 And we have seen and give witness that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 15 Everyone who says openly that Jesus is the Son of God, has God in him and is in God.”
The Steps:
- No man has seen God
- God is in us.
- That we love one another is witness.
- His Spirit is witness.
- We give witness.
- God is in you.
