"But down at their cells, down with their DNA ... is an infinite God." |
THE EARTH was without form and void and then God showed up. Light came. Life was.
We see all around us the glory of His creation, yet walk past, eyes closed, intent on some errand. A bird sings overhead yet we take no note of its song. A flower blooms amongst a profusion of weeds. We see the weeds but not the flower.
We despise life, breathed from His very best; infant, elderly, we overlook them in favor of the next buck. But down at their cells, down with their DNA, down where who we are is really seen, is an infinite God, with an infinite wisdom, which He used to create infinite things.
He placed in men His greatest being. Made In His image. After His likeness. What God would do this? Why not remain un-like, separate, and as the only one? Why not be a God we cannot possibly reach?
Though it is true there is none like Him, He chose to form from the dust of the earth He'd created, a man and woman as infinite as He is. And to bless them with His ability to multiply and increase. In so doing spreading all He is everywhere.
There amidst the bounty that was perfection, amidst the glory of creation, where an infinite variety birthed from an infinite God, swam and crawled and flew, He formed for Himself, people just as wonderful in nature and beauty as He will always be.
Spread your glory across the earth, O God.
Spread your glory and let it be seen
In men and women, in sunset and sunrise,
Let your majesty be shown,
Let your faithfulness take wing.
