JAH

"He suffered ... and this is the glory of His Resurrection—He did not remain that way."

FOR THREE YEARS, He lived with hate and ridicule, criticism and condemnation from the people. Three years is all it took to have Him put to death. It took Adam and Eve’s sons only one generation ’til one murdered the other, and their father, Adam, less than that to deliberately sin. In truth, Adam killed himself and his wife, Eve, with him, in their disobedience. For spiritual death brought physical death and all those things which cause it.

By Noah’s day, the whole world, every person on it except Noah and his family, eight souls, were exceedingly violent and filled with lust, even between humans and the Sons of men. The Scripture doesn’t say who these were, except in a note about Jesus after His death, where He preached to them in the prison darkness of hell before His Resurrection (1 Peter 3:19-20). But for angelic beings, demonic or otherwise, to cohabitate with women of earth would require some form of visual body. Again, it doesn’t say what this was; however, one thing is clear, it was forbidden, and the Son of Man, Jesus Christ, was born human to cleanse mankind. He is human, carried in the womb of His mother, Mary, and raised by Joseph, father to Him in every way but conception.

Jesus is human but has a perfected body, one without blood, as all His was shed on the cross. His Resurrected body has no damage to it. The damage was done to Him by men. Men killed Him, consumed with hate, mutilating His body beyond recognition (Isaiah 53:2-5). He didn’t look human anymore, and people turned their gazes. His beatings were for our healing. The turmoil He suffered was so that we need not suffer. Too much is made today in the church of suffering. We suffer only through obedience and persecution. We are persecuted by those who don’t understand Jesus, and those who think they do but lack His mercy and forgiveness. We must know Him in the Word in order to be just like Him, in order to respond like Him. We must also know our suffering is not sickness or physical deformity, injury, or any disease. It is not damage to the mind. No one has to be lacking in chromosomes, healthy genetic material, or mental stability and strength.

Jesus is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). Peace was declared at His birth, and He gave His peace, under His authority, to those Learners (disciples) who loved Him and looked to Him (John 14:27). His turmoil in the garden was over Judas, who He loves. He never stopped loving Judas. It was over carrying the weight of sin. But the Holy Spirit, who was upon Him without any measure, or in fullness, we can say, enabled Him to carry this weight, and gave Him otherworldly, supernatural peace. He cried out the psalm so those listening would know He fulfilled it. He then waited until the proper time to release His spirit and placed Himself at that moment in His Father’s care.

He suffered, and now, we don’t have to because, and this is the glory of His Resurrection—He did not remain that way. We look to the cross, and we should. But we often overlook the Resurrection which mended His physical body completely. He was in His Father’s care, remember? And the Father through the Spirit brought Him back to life, whole.

He is shalom, which means well-being. Nothing is missing or lacking from His salvation. It is complete, or entire. God who created all things at the beginning of time, recreated all things in mankind when Jesus rose and walked out of the grave. When Lazarus rose, he was wound in his graveclothes and needed to be loosed, for he would die again. But our Messiah, our Savior, left His behind. There is no more death in Him. He is Lord of all.

With His Resurrection came His Holy Spirit to live in us. When we believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead and confess with out mouth that Jesus is Lord, then the Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit, takes possession of our spirit man and breathes it back to life. He will never leave us or forsake us, but guide us into truth and all the revelations of the Father that Jesus came to earth to unveil. Which truth includes our healing, a long life in health and safety and blessing, fruitful, our children cared for in their generations, and no more fear of death. It is now but a gentle doorway into the beauty of heaven where God’s glory shines round about all, and we live forever in His grace.

But eternal life starts now. It begins today and includes all the benefits of heaven on this earth. Jesus came to bring the kingdom of God to us, in His death, yes. But HALLELUJAH, in His Resurrection.

“Lord, I lie open to thy scrutiny; thou knowest me, knowest when I sit down and when I rise up again, canst read my thoughts from far away. Walk I or sleep I, thou canst tell; no movement of mine but thou art watching it. Before ever the words are framed on my lips, all my thought is known to thee; rearguard and vanguard thou dost compass me about, thy hand still laid upon me. Such wisdom as thin is far beyond my reach, no thought of mine can attain it.” (Psalm 139:1-6, Knox)
