Just Like Our Dad

"A Perfect Image of the Father"

WE ARE the body of Christ, not a business. We are not THE CHURCH, Incorporated, but peaceful children of God, united by supernatural love. We are, in all our gifts, with all our callings and ministries, a perfect image of the Father.

He is the softest, gentlest, Father. Jesus is a portrait of Him, meek and lowly, humble, like Him. He is the endless love of God, neverending like Him. He is eternal everlasting life. There is no wisdom greater, no understanding broader. And we are made like Him through His Spirit within us.

“Jesus is the physical manifestation of the invisible God—the first being to leave infinity and manifest in physical form, and the conduit from which all creation flowed.” (Colossians 1:15, Remedy)

We aren't buildings and ministries, nor denominations and doctrines. We are the character and personality of a generous, loving Father who sacrificed Himself for our benefit. He gave His most valuable gift for our rescue then filled us with all He is. He left nothing out. All He has is ours. We are meant to be like Him. That beautiful. That successful. That peaceful. That at rest.

“For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.” (Hebrews 4:4)

Minister Dutch Sheets in his book on intercessory prayer, draws a picture of the armored child of God as looking so much like Jesus that the enemy can't tell the difference. We must put this in perspective. What did Jesus come to do?

"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." (Acts 10:38)

Jesus came to DO GOOD, so we DO GOOD. Jesus HEALED ALL THAT WERE OPPRESSED OF THE DEVIL, so that is our ministry through the Spirit. He did the work of the Father, laying hands on the sick and seeing them recover. The man at the pool rose from his bed and walked because the Father loved him so much. The Samaritan woman received forgiveness and healing for her heart because the Father loved her so much. Lazarus rose from the dead after being dead for four days to demonstrate the will and purpose of the Father, that death has no sting but instead displays His victory.

Jesus showed that truly nothing is impossible with God.

We cannot dumb down the Father and make Him less. He is not vengeful. His vengeance was the devil's defeat from before time, before it ever happened. His vengeance is our mercy. He forgave us of everything. We simply have to accept it, then knowing His care for us, choose to live free of it.

We share the height and depth, the length and width of Him in our behaviors and actions. We look like our Abba, our Daddy, in how we approach people. We love like Him, to the same extent. We look like Him in all of our character traits. By default, our reactions are strength and confidence born of the Holy Spirit, who is both the breath of the Father and the Spirit of Christ.

“Love is patient, love is kind.” (1 Corinthians 13:4 BSB)

We are not a corporation, not buildings and churches, but all pieces of our beautiful Father. As He moves, we move. As He speaks, in a whisper, we speak. As He sees, making flowers more beautiful than Solomon’s grandeur, we see (Matthew 6:29). As He provides, fully, in everything, no want or need ignored, so we provide. And sing His praises for all of our days.

“For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.” (Acts 17:28)

“As some of your own poets have said, ‘In union with him we live and move, and have existence. We are his offspring.’” (Acts 17:28, Remedy)
