"God makes no errors in judgment." |
DO YOU KNOW who will never say it’s God’s fault? God. Do you know who will never say you are forgiven and afterward, you feel clean and peaceful? The devil. The devil will justify your mistake, give you an excuse for it, and mix in either pride and self-defense or guilt and condemnation to keep it in your thinking.
We ought to recognize both. God will never blame God for what went wrong. He's in the healing business. He fixes relationships, finances, broken bodies and damaged minds. God knew who the enemy was before the enemy became the enemy. Jesus did not get quizzed by the devil and just then figure it out.
See, here's the thing. The devil looked at Jesus and said, “He needs to go.” And he dropped the idea into the temple folk who said Jesus was the devil's fault (Mark 3:22). So okay, blaming the devil is generally good except they had it all backward. Jesus was God, and the devil was the anger and arrogance that fueled their behavior. God was peace and salvation in their holy writings. What they expected from God was a show. What they got was a sacrifice and a gentle Savior who came to destroy the devil (1 John 3:8).
“And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.” (Matthew 6:5)
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)
It wasn't God’s fault. It was God’s plan. God makes no errors in judgment. Man does. The devil did. Jesus didn't, not even in choosing Judas, who He didn't want to condemn. See Him begging the Father in the garden to not make Him do that (Matthew 26:39). Jesus loves Judas. But Judas.
God says, I love you. The devil says, God caused it. God says, You're my beloved. The devil says, No one cares how you feel. God says, Let me carry that. The devil says, You can't handle it.
Do you see the difference? So the next time you hear God blamed for doing wrong stuff, you can wake up, point your finger at the devil and say, "Shut up!"
“Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.” (Matthew 26:34)
“He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.” (John 21:17)
