Where His Life Is

"Evil is not in Him, and He is in us, so evil (badness) should have no part in us."

WE ARE NOT here to create a controversy. To start a war. We are to seek peace and pursue peace (Psalm 34:14). We are to speak peace to situations, groups of people, governments, church members, local citizens. Peace is God's will on earth. He proclaimed it from the heavens at Jesus' birth. Peace and good will to all men. Good will not bad. God is not saving the end of days for retribution nor cleaning the slate of wickedness through death and destruction. He will consume it with the breath of His mouth. He will consume it with His life. He is that good. So good that there can be no bad (no evil) in His presence. Not because He's particular. No, He's holy and sin and death and wickedness will not survive where His goodness, His life, exists.

Why then is there evil in us still? Why do two sides war with each other? I have a vow. You will never hear me say "I don't know." God has promised me an answer, and the answer is complicated. But in short, we allow it. We speak it. We accept it. It is not in Him, and He is in us, so evil (badness) should have no part in us. We can actually strive for this. "Wait a minute, Suzanne. You can't possibly be saying it's possible to never sin." I'm saying that should be our speech. We should believe it. I've discovered recently in my time in the secret place that what we've labeled sin is not sin at all. God is far more gracious, good natured, and forgiving than we've realized. "Realized," meaning “had revelation of.”

He is aware of human habits and needs. Jesus told us this in Matthew 7. Our heavenly Father knows what we have need of. He lived among us through His Son, the Christ. He knows all forms of human life, across cultures and misbeliefs. He has heard cursing and knows of alternate lifestyles. Now there is sin in them, but He loves people. He never stops healing and saving people. We focus on the stop point, that place where men end up, and they must turn back or face judgment. We focus on judgment, for that matter, and vindication, pointing out sins in people. God, however, covers them up and washes them away. Love covers a multitude of sins, and I am so glad. He doesn't want to air our dirty laundry. He wants to cleanse it. Better yet, to replace it and make us all brand new.

Our heart should be the same. We must stop prophesying destruction and fear and war. There is a place for wartime prophecy, but it will never create anger, chaos, or fear. It will never create strife and cause division. God is the one who carries us through, who lifts us over, and pulls us from the muck and the mire. He smooths the rumpled places, flattens the mountains, and raises the valleys so that access to Him is smooth (Luke 3:4-5). It simply requires a glimpse of His face, and this must be our heart, too. We must work so hard for peace and the salvation of men that it comes even at our own expense. That what they see in us is joy and hope and a certain future with the beauty of heaven to gain, as the gift of a beautiful generous God who went to His utmost to assure we would be with Him, even here on this earth standing in heavenly places.

“Since you became alive again, so to speak, when Christ arose from the dead, now set your sights on the rich treasures and joys of heaven where he sits beside God in the place of honor and power. 2 Let heaven fill your thoughts; don’t spend your time worrying about things down here. 3 You should have as little desire for this world as a dead person does. Your real life is in heaven with Christ and God. 4 And when Christ who is our real life comes back again, you will shine with him and share in all his glories.” (Colossians 3:1-4 TLB)

“In a big house, there are different kinds of dishes. There are some dishes that people have made from gold or silver (another valuable metal). They use dishes like that only for special purposes. They do not let those dishes get dirty. There are also dishes that people have made from wood or clay (sticky material from the ground). They use those dishes for purposes that are not special. Those dishes may get very dirty. 21 It is like that with the Lord’s people. If they make themselves completely separate from bad, dirty things, then they will be like dishes for special, clean purposes. They will be ready for God to use them. He is like the master of the house. They will be ready for him to use them for any good work.” (2 Timothy 2:20-21 EasyEnglish)
