"God wanted us, His creation, made in His image and after His likeness, to have full, blessed, healthy lives." |
HOW SHALL I say this clearly? Okay. Here goes. CAPS LOCK. GOD DOES NOT MAKE PEOPLE SICK, EVER, FOR ANY REASON. This is a test. What did I just say? Repeat after me. "God does not make people sick, ever, for any reason." Keep this in the forefront of your thinking. Make it your first response, should anyone say otherwise. He will never test you (or anyone else) to see if they are faithful to Him, obedient to His commandment (which is to love people), or for any other actual or inane reason, by making you sick.
CAPS LOCK AGAIN. THERE IS NO DEATH IN HIM. He conquered death. As in, He died … Although, He had to do that deliberately, saying, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." Otherwise, He wouldn't have died. (And think on this. He suffered for you and me on purpose, knowing the pain would continue and escalate, yet He could not die. Mind blown.) Anywho, He died knowing He would rise again. He is alive and King of Kings. But He did that to give us, John 3:16, everlasting life.
LIFE. LIFE. LIFE. God wanted us, His creation made in His image and after His likeness, to have full, blessed, healthy lives. He wanted to bring the kingdom of heaven to earth, and there is NO SICKNESS IN HEAVEN. The will of God on earth is just as it is in heaven. We have to stop thinking like men on earth and think like children of God. Not servants. We're not slaves, being told what to do. We are reflections of our Dad. People look at us ... principalities and powers and rulers of the darkness of this world, in short, the devil, looks at us and sees Him. Hears Him.
We are exact replications of our Father. Same nose. Same hairline. Same strength. Same confidence. And to the extent He loves us, we love Him and know how much, how deep and wide and far-reaching His love is. "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword (Romans 8:35)?" The answer is no one and nothing shall ever take God's love from us. Nothing shall ever condemn us.
The incorrect idea that God makes men sick to test their strength and endurance and anything else is condemnation which Jesus set us free of. James 1 says point blank God is not tempted by evil nor does He tempt anyone with it, and sickness is evil. The devil tempted man to sin in the garden; man sinned, and death entered the earth. Jesus then came and defeated death in a glorious plan made before the foundation of the world. So do not let anyone, ever, tell you that you or anyone else is sick because they are being tested by God. That is un-godly, and we are set free of it.
“Now since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity, so that by His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.” (Hebrews 2:14-15 BSB)
“Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with every good thing to do His will. And may He accomplish in us what is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” (Hebrews 13:20-21 BSB)
