The Perfect Life

"I've heard it in the pulpit. 'Jesus may come tonight.' No, He won't. There are men and women who can be saved."

JESUS CAME to save the world, but we want Him to give up and just come and take us home. Forget those who are on the edge of a supernatural decision, those who would be saved if we hung around for a while longer. They should’ve seen Him sooner, chosen differently. Oh, we would never save this, but I’ve heard it in the pulpit. “Jesus may come tonight.” No, He won’t. There are men and women who can be saved. “But it’s not up to Him. It’s in the Father’s hands.” Again, think clearer. The Father SO LOVED the sinful world that even if the death of His Son was the way salvation would happen, then that’s what He would give.

Minister Bill Johnson says, “Many believers have greater faith in the return of Christ than in the power of the Gospel.” “Lord, come get us,” is easy to say, but “my grace is sufficient” is not. God wants us to do the work of the gospel, to show the love of Christ to a dying world and pull some back from the fires of hell. And He’s made everything possible for us to do it without having to ever suffer anything. He wants us to have enjoyment of days and a long life with satisfaction. We don’t need to expect evil. EVER. We can sleep well, eat well, and have full and fantastic lives with as many children and grandchildren as we desire to have. We can live well, have all of our physical needs provided, and never ever get sick or have any injury or illness. We can leave home without a care in the world and be so joyful it overflows.

“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” (Hebrews 2:14-15)

We must put this image in our hearts in order for it to come to pass, and with it in our hearts, we must speak it out. “Live glib, Suzanne.? How can we do that with all the troubles in the world?” You just accepted the lie of the enemy with that talk. He has no authority here. He never has had. What he did was to introduce death, and death made us believe the lie that we had no dominion any longer. We gave him authority that he did not have through our inaction and incorrect speech. Authority that God did not want him to have. Jesus reclaimed us from the power of death, and that means everywhere in everything. Always. I do have to speak the Word over my life, I have to say what God says, so that THE PERFECT LIFE is mine. You heard me.

We can have a perfect life. But what we don’t say, we don’t reinforce. And when we do say it, we speak with confidence, with complete belief in God’s faithfulness to us. We do not say God’s promises in fear. We are not given any fear. Fear is like burping. Yeah, you feel it. Your body reacts to it. But it’s really not greater than that because it’s a huge lie. Walk past it. Say to yourself, “God is real,” and keep going forward with your hand in His. Go forward BELIEVING what the enemy has turned toward evil, God will turn into good no matter how long it takes, no matter what form it takes. We put God into a box saying He can only work this way or that way when He has another plan entirely, and I guarantee you it’s better than what we’ve thought up.

What God has planned for Jesus’ return is better than what we’ve dreamed up, for that matter. I guarantee you we have no idea how spectacular it will be. The very idea millions of people will be gone from earth says that loudly. And we believe it.

“Since you became alive again, so to speak, when Christ arose from the dead, now set your sights on the rich treasures and joys of heaven where he sits beside God in the place of honor and power. Let heaven fill your thoughts; don’t spend your time worrying about things down here. You should have as little desire for this world as a dead person does. Your real life is in heaven with Christ and God. And when Christ who is our real life comes back again, you will shine with him and share in all his glories.” (Colossians 3:1-4 TLB)
