Hey, God . . .

"Jesus knew He could live and God would actually have His back."

STOP TIPTOEING around God. He is neither uncaring of your situation nor unapproachable because of it. Jesus defeated sin and death to make Him approachable. He is THE WAY to the Father (His words.) Having accepted Him as the way, or perhaps you don't believe all this "Christian junk," speak to Him just as you are anyway. He is not sharpening His lightning bolts. He is not surprised by how you feel. He, in fact, knows every thought in your heart and the intent behind it (Hebrews 4:12) and loves you so much He'd send His Son to die anyway. Jesus died for those who hated Him. He died for Judas who betrayed Him.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.” (John 14:6-7)

God isn't concerned about your hair, your clothing, or your tattoos. He doesn't have any requirements for you to approach except that you're human. You can be actually human and yet so confused you think you're a donkey, and He will listen. For that matter, He listens to donkeys. He knows the death of even the tiniest sparrows (Matthew 10:29). He counts the hairs on your head, if you just wanna know how many there are (Matthew 10:30).

Stop tiptoeing because you messed up, because you don't know what to say, because you can't speak King James. Speak Southern then, or New York, or the inner street. Nothing you say will confuse Him. It isn't possible. He just wants to be spoken to, however we feel and however it emerges. He wants us to seek Him, the Bible says. That just means us saying, "Hey, God..." and He will answer.

“When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.” (Psalms 27:8)

And another thing. Can we cut the crap with the whole "God us being silent on me" schizzle? He speaks what needs to be said. He's the strong, silent type. Yes. No. Lots of short answers (Matthew 5:37). Except, of course, if you're speaking to Jesus because He's the extrovert of them. He has tons to say. And I want to straighten something up. He came to do His Father's will. But did you know He wasn't an automaton. Yes, Fath-er. No, Fath-er. Here's the thing again. He actually had emotions and felt things. He laughed at His friends and shook His head at stupidity. He got angry at people making money hand-over-fist in the Temple, and Dear Ol' Dad let Him react. You heard me. Jesus knew He could LIVE and God would actually have His back.

I'm not afraid to sob in His ears, to croon, or to yell. I'm human. He's human. And God above and God within created humans. Down to our DNA. Take off your ballet shoes and march right up to the throne and say exactly what you want to. If you feel guilt and condemnation for it, that's the devil dressed like the church. Religion is a lie which takes us back under the law where we have to earn forgiveness. In case you missed the memo, Jesus fulfilled (ended) all of that. We're just us now, and it's a marvelous thing.

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)

“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.” (Matthew 5:17)

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” (Ephesians 2:8)
