More Of Them

"From their bodies comes new life in the image of God."

THE LOVE OF a man and his wife produces a child. From their bodies comes new life in the image of God. God designed it that way. He made man from the dust then made woman from man’s side.

Some have noted that the name of God, El Shaddai, means the "many breasted one," and this has been applied to His creation of motherhood. Though there is some truth to this, He IS the Designer of man, and our Savior, the Word of God, who was there in the beginning (John 1), born male from the womb of His mother, there is nothing odd or fantasized about them. Instead, woman was made as the perfect counterpart, the right fit, if you will, for man. From God, who is the source of wisdom, from His nature comes woman's nature, her personality, her way of being. In Genesis, she is called man's helpmeet. Woman was made to be all that man needed, in a sense, all that he was not.

There is no laughter in this. God designed love in all its formation, and He gave to them, from their love, the ability to create with His life. Not just in a physical sense, as the body of the child, but in the spirit. From them came the child's spiritual being. And it is regardless of their belief in Him. A couple that chooses a relationship outside of marriage as He wishes it to be, can create life. A couple that worships idols can create spiritual life. Though they do not see Him and would curse Him, they can conceive, and a child is born.

He sends the rain on the just and the unjust (Matthew 5:45). From the soil, comes abundance to the farmer regardless of culture or spiritual knowledge. All scientific law works for all men. All physical law works for all men. It is death which came to the earth from sin that steals away anything God has granted. And deception which causes men and women to choose what He has not made. Men have forever argued over their right to choose what they wish. God does not argue over this right. But He does give warning of the consequences and they are eternal. They go right to the core of what He has created.

From him and her comes more of them, and it is perfection in the way He made it. He reaped the benefit of it.

“And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” (Matthew 19:4-6)
