"Nothing controls God. Not our behavior, not the devil's bad choices, not war or failing government." |
GOD IS NOT intimidated by chaos. Not confused by confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). He has no shortcomings, no bad habits. There is nothing in Him to correct. Even as a human, as Jesus of Nazareth, He had no sin, and having no sin, sin had no dominion over Him. No control. Nothing controls God. Not our behavior. Not the devil’s bad choices. Not war or failing government.
The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but God brings life. In Him is life, such that He can take dust and make it human. He can take humanity and make it His children and Himself their Father. He can heal the sick and raised the dead, give sight to the blind, and peace to the mentally afflicted. In Him, at all times, is great, enduring peace. Outside of Him is strife and anguish, but in Him, is order and healing.
He holds all wisdom. All of it. He is never lacking in it, never searching for it, never considering the answer or reconsidering His choices. He knows the ending from the beginning and all points, all people, in between. Nothing takes Him by surprise. Nothing trips Him up, causes Him to stumble. He does not feel frustration and seeks to always avoid wrath. He is not wrathful. Though it seems the Old Testament has painted Him that way, it was always at sin and because of His planned future redemption.
It was until Jesus came, and when Jesus came, He set aside vengeance for mercy. A time for vengeance as judgment will come, but not against the enemy and death. Sin and death have been judged already. Sin and death will one day be consumed with life. This earth will not be consumed with death. Death will never conquer life. These images made in books and movies are man’s misunderstanding. No, God will pour out so much life that no death, no evil will remain. There will be no more sorrow, no more mourning, for all of it will have gone away, replaced by His all-consuming love, His goodness to men and the earth He formed.
Play "He Is" by Patrick Mayberry
He is eternal. He is forever, and now, so are we. We need not consider death past our acceptance of its place in time for each of us. Our physical bodies will die, but our spirit men, our reborn spirits, will live on, will partake of His presence in heavenly places, and be filled with Him for an eternity. No more earth as it was, but God as He is until He remakes all of this to be like Him. Heaven is His image, His taste, it has been said, and we are His children, beloved by our Father, the Maker of all things.
“Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire—the lake of God’s fiery presence —which is the second (or eternal) death, when all deviations from God’s design for life are permanently consumed.” (Revelation 20:14)
HE IS:
- Omnipresent
- Omnipotent
- Omniscient
“Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.” (Psalms 139:12)
“Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:” (Isaiah 46:10)
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)
