"Anything you hear that says you can't be healed is from the devil, however well meant it is spoken." |
IT'S NOT FAITH for the healing we need, but faith in the Healer. How much does Jesus love you? Settle this and you’ll have more than enough trust in Him. We are each of us given THE MEASURE of faith. He is that measure. We each one have all of Him, 100% Jesus. And He “gets us,” all of our weaknesses, our foibles, our doubts. As long as we keep seeking and refuse to turn around and look back, and even if we do falter for an instant, even then, He is with us, working on us. Faith leaves the how and how long in His hands. Our focus is on Him, on His presence, on who He is, and learning more of Him, leaning all on Him.
We must realize that what we see with our physical eyes is not all of what He’s doing. All we feel, the pains and aches, the fear that keeps trying to take over, do not speak for Him. The devil doesn’t speak for Him. If you’ve been taught God allows sickness, that is wrong. Salvation forbids it, covers all of it, purchases it for us in His shed blood. (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24) Any belief we have that says otherwise, we must set down at His feet and ask Him to teach us the truth. Even if we don’t fully understand, our trust in Him says, “I don’t get this, but you are FOR me at all times.” Here is our brave, first step.
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)
“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)
The woman with the issue of blood who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment is an often-used example of faith, and it’s a great example. She said, “If I can but touch the hem of His garment,” then set out to do so. But I also like the father who pleaded for his son. He knew he had unbelief and asked for Jesus’ help. “Help thou my unbelief,” he said, and Jesus filled in the gaps where the father came up short. God is merciful. He healed me of something I didn’t know I had. I’d had migraines for years, and recently, they were diagnosed at a local hospital. When I asked what they could do to cure them, they said, “Nothing.” It was incurable. I sit here today, having not had one migraine for 2 years. I didn’t know I had a problem to even believe for healing, yet God healed me.
Questions arise which strike at our trust in God, questions about why someone did or didn’t get healed. We must ask Him for the answers and until He answers, keep our focus on the Word of God and time spent in the Spirit, worship, basking. We can’t allow them to cause us to turn loose. We must speak the truth of the Word and not our problem. Know what God says and keep that in front of you. Don’t allow people or local news or internet-spouted solutions to speak louder than Him. Even if someone says your problem is incurable, to God it isn’t. God often uses doctors for healing, but we must keep our gaze on Jesus whatever the solution.
He made a baby form in a virgin. He raised a bruised and broken, crushed human body, back to life and changed it to perfection. Jesus’ blood is on the altar of heaven, not in His veins, and He is alive. Nothing is impossible with God. Nothing. Don’t get hung up on who you are or what church you go to or what doctrine you’ve believed. Get hung up on Jesus, on His goodness, His love for you. Know that the enemy comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. Anything that makes you feel like any of those is from the devil. Anything you hear that says you can’t be healed is from the devil, however well meant it is spoken.
God sees you. He knows every detail, and just because He is quiet, or He seems not to be speaking, does not change that. He is consistent and faithful. He never changes. Our doubts and worries don’t altar His love at all. His timing and our patience is the biggest issue. I get this. It’s hard to wait when you’re in pain. But He is enough. When you have a weak moment, read the Word, quote the Scriptures to yourself, and stop and worship. Sing to Him, however loud or soft. I am soft-spoken, and He likes that about me. I don’t have to change.
When you need encouragement, reach out to someone who believes with you. I know prayer people. I am one. You can always reply to my emails or social media posts and ask for prayer. My mom always says to have a “3 a.m. person,” someone you can call at a strange hour. There are some excellent prayer phone call lines, Rick Renner is one. Richard Roberts is another, well-known for his healing ministry. But know this, God wants you well, healthy, and unafraid. That is His heart. With everything in Him, He reaches out to you, Emmanuel, God with you, as close as the mention of His name.
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” (Acts 10:38)
