Our lips. His words.

"We should not give all the supernatural to the devil but know that God can and will work through us."

WHY DID THE scribes and the Pharisees let Jesus call them “hypocrites” and “fools?” The disciples called Him "Master" and "Rabbi." He called their Jewish scholars "blind guides," "whited sepulchres," and "serpents." Yet, they did nothing right then. They were afraid of the crowds, at times. The people followed Him everywhere. For the miracles. He accused the people of this after feeding the multitude from a few loaves and fishes. What drew them and also what stopped the Pharisees and other religious leaders was not His charisma. Nor that He was, on His own strength, good with words.

“For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.” (Matthew 7:29)

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.” (Matthew 23:23)

When a man or woman gives a prophecy, where does that come from? How do they know it's God speaking to them? Jesus said He spoke only His Father's words. So He had to know them to speak them.

There is an element to this which only experience can teach you, both in listening and in speaking. But the answer to all of this is the Holy Spirit. We see the devil's version in the demonic. When Jesus faced the Gadarene, He spoke to the demons, and they replied, yet it was the man's lips moving. He told many other unclean spirits to be quiet which spoke through people. He Himself faced Satan with the Word of God. Satan asked Him three questions and gave Him visions. Jesus, knowing who He was, quoted verses from Deuteronomy, which spoke of His identity as the Lord God. Note, He was not afraid of Satan’s voice.

How much greater then should we see and understand the words of the Spirit? For the Holy Spirit lives in the children of God. He fills us and speaks to us. We must learn to listen and hear Him. Someone who is called in a ministry office or gift is given an anointing for that office and gift. The Spirit speaks through them. It is their lips and His words. Spiritual visions are a promise of the Scriptures, prophesied by Joel and declared by Peter in Acts 2. Knowing God's images from pizza dreams is also clearer with time and maturity, but the Spirit makes them evident to each individual.

Those I have had I did not mistake for being from God. I knew He sent them. Nor do I doubt the words He speaks to me for writing and study. I have learned His voice. There are times I choose what He did not say, I write a "rabbit trail," and my heart quickly perceives it. I then stop and listen for He will keep speaking. Other times, it is as if He moves my fingers. I heard a story of this where a surgeon performed an operation on a patient in a much quicker manner than usual, and he said it was God moving His hands. We hear these things and fear, but as with Peter choosing to do the impossible and walk on water, the Spirit enabled Him, so He enables us. We should not give all the supernatural to the devil but know that God can and will work through us.

What is the laying of hands on the sick but an extension of Jesus' hands in ours. We should not fail to do what His commission commands. God will always meet a clean sincere heart at the point of our faith, and those seeking Him will be filled and made whole. We must stop walking away from these portions of our calling. God is in is for us but upon us for the world. We are not lights placed beneath a bushel but those on a lampstand, which stand is the Spirit, who shines for all to see. The moving of Him in us is that light, is Jesus, who became a servant in order to become the King.

“I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.” (Isaiah 42:6-7)

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” (Mark 16:17-18)
