Justice

"The same devil in the same men who had hung Jesus on the cross, grabbed hold of Stephen and stoned him to death."

STEPHEN FACED THE COUNCIL and preached a sermon of the history of Israel. Beginning at Abraham, he recounted the work of God unto Moses and deliverance from Egypt, then afterward, to David and Solomon. This was nothing the listeners did not know, but as with Jesus when he’d done similar, they didn’t want to hear it. Jesus accused them of killing the prophets they gloried in, and Stephen accused them of killing the Prophet that Moses had prophesied would come.

“When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.” (Acts 7:54)

This made them angry to the point of murder. They’d done the same to Jesus. Seeing the miracles He performed, they could only think they had to shut Him up for good. Well, when Stephen looked upward and saw Jesus standing at the throne of heaven, they exploded. The same devil in the same men who had hung Jesus on the cross, grabbed hold of Stephen and stoned him to death.

They only proved Jesus’ point. Man needed salvation, and He loved them enough to provide it at His own expense.

Political hate, religious hate, cultural hate, by any name it’s hate, and it’s rancid and ugly, and Jesus died to redeem man from it. He was God before being born on earth. He was God in the flesh while living among men. He died as God for man then was raised as God of all and King of Kings by the Spirit of God which anointed Him, the Christ. He went through turmoil in the Garden, in laying His will down and taking up His Father’s, but His death had been planned from before the foundation of the world. There was no possible failure to it.

There is no possible failure to His will for these United States, and it is not dependent upon man except for us to pray in faith and not fear and to speak God’s truth over what we see and hear. Endless minutes of “woe is me” accomplish nothing. They drag us backward, and your joy flees in the midst of it. Jesus could have whined about dying on the cross. He could have called for those legions of angels to deliver Him and trounce the Romans, but He knew that Rome would create the largest church denomination, and that it would affect the world. He knew from that denomination would come other men, enlightened by the Spirit who would stand for godly principles and spread salvation through all generations.

God has a bigger vision than what we can see. We must choose to seek His perspective, and where we cannot, we choose to believe He has it all under control. Because, I assure you, He does. He is not “fearing and trembling” over legal events nor the plethora of lies spat on either side. He is the Truth. His Spirit is the Truth. Not one lie hides from Him. And not one prayer prayed over this land from her inception has hit the ground and faded away.

You shake your head at me, but I saw Him. I saw Jesus dressed as King seated atop Mount Rushmore, and that image is as fresh today as it was when I received it. He has not lost His crown nor His will to abide here. He has not laid down His scepter in favor of a garden rake. He is a God of justice, and justice will be had here.

Our issue is we plan it out for Him. No, we must allow Him to work, and what He requires of us is for us to stop holding hands with the devil and calling it salvation. What gave us freedom in the first place was unity. What held us together after war was unity. What shines forth in our name for all the world to see is that we are UNITED. Strife and division and confusion are of the devil. From them come “every evil work,” and yes, folks, our criticisms of each other opens a million tiny doors for a million tiny doubts to creep into our thinking.

Contrast Stephen now with David, who faced his brother, Eliab, and asked a powerful question. There in the valley of Elah stood a loudmouth braggart some nine feet tall, and Israel’s army crouched around him too afraid to move. But David saw not the fear of his brothers nor the others in Israel’s army, what he saw was this was their valley and who does this Philistine think he is?

“Is there not a cause?” David asked (1Sam 17:29). That word “cause” also means “history.” David knew the history of God in Israel. He knew there was a covenant that God would uphold. Facing Goliath, a short time later, he never blinked because of the size of the giant’s words, nor his shadow casting long in the valley, nor the weight of his weapons that he displayed in front of him. They had a history here, and this battle was the Lord’s.

Such was the promise God had made to Israel when they entered the Promised Land. He would drive out the inhabitants before them, one city at a time, and God fulfilled this in many ways. So when the Philistines invaded Israel (Judah), land they did not own, though they hoped to conquer it, they stood on anointed soil, ground given to Abraham and the nation of Israel. In this manner, it does appear an enemy has invaded, and we are lost. But God’s will for these United States shines in our past. In the Revolution, all was almost lost when France came to our aid. In the American Civil War, only one battle was fought where the South invaded the North – Gettysburg. There would be no division of North from South, nor East from West, for many traveled west to escape the conflict. So today, in this age and with these conflicts in this nation, there will be no division of its principles, government, states, nor people by an invading army, neither spiritual nor physical. It cannot happen, for the spiritual battle has been fought and the enemy (the devil) defeated.

Stop listening to the devil tell you this is our retribution for the weight of sin on our shoulders. Stop letting him rewrite our history and cover up the end of John’s Revelation that says God wins. The chaos that we see around us is no greater than God, nor out of the hands of the Holy Spirit. We are the UNITED STATES because the God of heaven and earth set us here. Stiffen your spine and speak the Word of God and not the devil’s work.

The Savior says: I will not give one inch of ground to him or his forces to divide this nation under any pretense that anyone sees. For the work has already been done. Stand now on the side of justice and believe.
