Do It

"Though the devil is crafty enemy, our God is wiser and stronger."

WHEN IT SAYS God is “high and lifted up,” that does not mean He is looking down His nose at you. It is not “because He is high” therefore we are low. To the contrary, He has, through Christ, lifted us up to sit with Him. We are given His point-of-view, His perspective, and I assure you, when you see things how God does then you will let go of all that you fear and worry about.

God does not have a Satan problem. Satan has a God problem because God is living in every believer and has given all of them, a-l-l all, all of them His authority (exousia) and power (dunamis). Much has been said in the church about our authority (exousia). “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).” People read this and accept it, but assume it means they do not have the power or ability over the devil. They assume that he will heed authority and stop his doings immediately.

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)

But the Word of God says to “resist” him for a reason. Resist is a continued effort. The kingdom of darkness and death holds claim on this earth until the Savior, the Judge of the whole earth, removes it once and for all. And that day will come. But in the meantime, we must stand against the devil, and that can only be done with both authority (exousia) and ability (dunamis).

DUNAMIS is the HOLY GHOST. He is not a ghost but a spirit. God is spirit, and as such, we must worship Him in spirit. Ghost was a common word usage in the translations of previous centuries. It is okay to use, but we must know He is spirit and truth. It is His truth that changes our thoughts, words, and actions, and the truth says that we are free from all the works of darkness. Not just those we speak to, expecting God to move, but God moves through us, through you and me. We are containers of the Holy Spirit. The power of God, all of His ability, flows through us. When we lay hands on the sick, the power (dunamis) of God’s Spirit flows through our hands into that one, and they are healed. Without the laying on of hands, many will not recover.

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” (Mark 16:17-18)

There has been some reticence in recent years to lay hands on anyone from fear of sickness and government regulation, but the Holy Spirit begs of you to trust Him and lay this aside. He knows every nation, every law and lawmaker. He can and will protect and guide His own. This is not to suggest we flaunt regulations pressed upon us, but that we must walk by faith. The whole principle of faith is to trust in your heavenly Father to do what He has said He will do, and protection is His number one promise.

On every side, He has guarded us from all the things the devil would push on us. Though the devil is a crafty enemy, our God is wiser and stronger. We have nothing to fear. Not from sickness and disease and injury. Has He not promised His angels guard our every step (Psalm 91:11-12)? We must send them with our words, “Go forth and protect, you messengers of the saints (Hebrews 1:14).” And we must also take a firm place in the Word of God as it has spoken over our health. “No plague will come nigh my dwelling.” We speak it and believe it.

Stop leaving the door open for the devil by suggesting disease is what everyone should deal with. No, God desires us to walk free of any virus, natural or manmade, for our entire existence on this earth. As long as we live and breathe, work and eat, we need not fear anything will overpower us and steal from our goods, our children, our prosperity, our success. Even our dog is protected. God healed mine of pancreatitis and kidney failure, and she lived to be 18, passing away in health and peace. Our Father, our Savior, the Christ, and the Spirit of the Almighty desire us to live in blessing.

“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.” (Hebrews 10:35)

This day, commit to trust Him in your finances, commit to give generously, for has He not said He will return it to you many-fold? Commit to walk by faith, to do as the Great Commission bids us, to lay hands on the sick and see them recover, to preach the Word with boldness and confidence. That word “confidence” in Hebrews 10:35, is a word of bold, confident speech. It means outspokenness. Where in that is there any reticence to proclaim God to those who need Him? As has been already said, He will guide you in what to say. We lean on Him fully for everything, all that we speak and say and do, and so we know what to say and when to say it.

“But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.” (Matthew 10:19-20)

Jesus promised this to His disciples, that when they faced kings and authorities in the government and religious sectors, the Spirit of God will provide the words. We must learn to listen. He is faithful, and His mercy is great. His wisdom is promised to us so that we can take correct actions. We, the body, can go forth and shine the love of Christ in the marketplace, in the educational system, in the government, and in all spheres of influence. There is not one place in this nation or any nation that He is not Lord of. We must take hold of His truth and learn to walk in Jesus’ footsteps, facing the wilderness, the beasts which roam seeking to devour, and any earthly satanic influence through Jesus who defeated them once and for all.

Satan is a defeated enemy. My mother frequently spells it this way – de-feeted, and that is exactly how it should be in us. He has no feet anymore but has been condemned. We must stand up for Jesus, as the old song goes, and treat Satan as the dunghill he has become.
