Prophets, Women, and the Good Ol' USA

"Jesus is the Word, and if you'd sit down and pray and ask Him His opinion, He'd tell you it's the anointing in the Word that works."

UTTER THE WORD “prophecy” and half the church world goes off the hook. Put a woman in the pulpit and the other half takes out the tape measure. We don’t all measure up. See, it works like this. God made a set of rules for His people Israel, and He PROPHESIED He would come to earth, born of a virgin, and fulfill them. Then He actually DID fulfill them. (So prophecy’s a thing. You feel me?) And He poured out His Spirit upon all mankind (not just men but women, too. The Savior’s mother, Mary, was in the room at Pentecost. Go figure that one out in your cereal bowl.) The disciples then go out to make more disciples, and day one, 3,000 men AND women are added to the church. Along comes Saul of Tarsus afterward, a Roman and a Jew and a Pharisee who crucified Jesus willingly (think on that), only Jesus Himself shines from the heavens, and BAM! (insert superhero noise), Jesus lights up the Damascus Road, and Paul goes blind and ends up converting to Christianity. He travels mega-everywhere and is largely supported BY WOMEN, yeah, we’re good for the money part, but when He writes about women wearing head coverings and deferring to their husbands, somehow the fact this was then in that culture and not now in this one gets stuck in the craw of denominations.

Here's the truth, folks. Having summed all that up. A wife is supposed to submit to her husband, but her husband is supposed be willing to die for her. So there’s that. And neither a man nor a woman should make a scene in church. That’d be tacky, and the Spirit of God would rather you didn’t. But the rest, all the talking about the gospel from the pulpit and using the gifts of the Spirit and Jesus saving people, that is done by speaking the Word, and Jesus is the Word, and if you’d sit down and pray and ask Him His opinion, He’d tell you it’s the anointing in the Word that works, not the gender of the speaker. I’ll repeat that in case you drifted off in my rambling. IT’S THE ANOINTING IN THE WORD THAT DRAWS MEN TO CHRIST. Woman can speak the Word, and God will anoint it, whatever denomination you’re in. What He wants in the service is for us to LOVE ONE ANOTHER and to WALK IN THE SPIRIT so that we don’t fulfill all those lusts of the flesh, which includes speaking out of turn and inappropriate behavior from both genders, and hatred and being ugly just because someone has learned something from the Word which they are gifted to share, and you don’t like their gender.

“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” (Mark 11:22-24)

“And if I have a prophet's power, and have knowledge of all secret things; and if I have all faith, by which mountains may be moved from their place, but have not love, I am nothing.” (1 Corinthians 13:2)

If you’d ask Him about prophets, He’d tell you to PRAY over who is speaking and to always compare their words to the Scriptures. I get sometimes they’re particular to a nation, like this one. God has not forgotten the Good Ol’ USA. No sirree, Bob. (He told me to tell you.) Jesus is King of America and the whole Land of the Free and Home of the Brave is about to be upturned. Not a doubt in my womanly mind. People been praying over her since she got started, and PRAYERS NEVER DIE. Generations of men and women have spoken forgiveness and healing over this land, apostles and prophets from then until now, congregations, ministers, and the anointing of all that praying is in the soil from sea to shining sea. God sees us. God hears us. God is saving us from a demonic agenda which threatens to destroy our livelihood and our children. He wants you to know that and to stand firm and believe in His love for you.

His anointing never dies. He is eternal. And today there is neither Jew nor Greek, nor bond nor free, nor male nor female, but ALL ARE UNITED IN CHRIST JESUS (Galatians 3:28). The Word works for all who speak it. Any who hear it will strengthen their faith, and their faith will work. He has called some apostles and prophets and pastors and teachers and workers in the ministry and notice the lack of gender mention there. Lean into the Spirit before you judge anything or anyone. Study to show thyself approved but be sure to not draw a conclusion and leave God out of the circle. Pray over what you hear, what you believe, and have an open heart and willingness to change your opinion. Better yet bury it entirely. Because it might just be, His opinion trumps yours (His does trump yours), and His death and Resurrection was for whosoever the Father SO LOVED so that all could GO YE INTO ALL THE WORLD and make disciples. All.

“Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, a distance of half a mile. When they arrived, they went to the upstairs room of the house where they were staying. Here are the names of those who were present: Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James (son of Alphaeus), Simon (the zealot), and Judas (son of James). They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.” (Acts 1:12-14 NLT)

“On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.” (Acts 2:1-4 NLT)
