We have not been given the spirit of fear.
But POWER, LOVE, and a SOUND MIND.
(2Timothy 1:7, paraphrased)
THESE ARE THE THREE THINGS you need to combat fear. The POWER of God is within you and upon you to overcome it. It is not by your might nor your strength that you overcome but by His Spirit, who is the power of the Resurrection. I do not have to rely on what I can do in my own strength. The strength I have comes from Him.
The LOVE of God casts out fear because fear has torment, and God came to bring wholeness, to bring salvation. He died to forgive our sins and to bring total and complete healing. He loves to that depth and height, to the uttermost, to His most generous extent, to the point where His own goodness and mercy becoming everlasting in us and eternal life flowing through us.
We have a SOUND mind. We are given peace beyond understanding simply for praying to our loving Father. Jesus gave us His peace, which He had the authority to give. The Comforter, the Spirit of peace, is with us and will not forsake us. We can face every obstacle, every situation in total peace, to the point we don’t even know why we’re peaceful.
It is peace in our mind, but also soundness. That every thought which would try to lift itself up against the knowledge of God is taken captive and placed under the blood of Christ where it can no longer harm us. We are sober and vigilant against the devil. We are filled with the wisdom and revelation of who God is and who we are in God.
We lack nothing we need to stand up against fear and refuse it any entrance.
“Any person who knows that God loves him will not be afraid of God. This love causes us not to be afraid. Some people are afraid of God. They think that he will punish them. So, if someone is afraid of God, he is not completely trusting God. He is not completely trusting that God loves him.” (1Jn 4:18 EasyEnglish)
