We are Him. Us.

THERE'S NO NEED to compare. We are not in competition. That is a lie of the enemy. It's not, "My pain is bigger than yours," and "I suffered longer than you did." If you want to go that route, Jesus suffered the most. Put a stamp on that and mark it paid.

The Godhead – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – are in complete unity. They set the pattern intended for mankind. First, there was Adam united to Eve, the words spoken to "leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife" when he had no parents at all except God. God, Elohim or gods, plural, the first face he saw when he opened his eyes. What a thought that is.

There is a man on Instagram who raises button quail, and when they first hatch, his is the face they see, and as was designed by God, those tiny chicks follow him around wherever he goes. He is their mother. Such should our behavior be. We should pattern ourselves after the first face we see in that moment we accept the new birth. There, we are, born again, staring into the eyes of our Savior, filled with the Spirit, our loving Father speaking to us, and our every wish from that moment on should be to be more like Him, to be closer to Him, more intimate.

Did you know you can talk to God in the grocery store? At the gas station? While driving to Aunt Jo's? Did you know He isn't limited to your favorite armchair and the third pew back in the second section, beside Arthur Kimble and his wife, Maureen?

Philippians 4:6 says to have the peace of God guard your heart and your mind you must first "let your requests be made known unto God." First, you must talk to Him. You must ask. And Matthew 6:8 says the Father knows what you need before you ask. But our asking is important. He wants to hear your voice. Minister Lance Wallnau pointed out that with our praises we “blot out every murmuring ungrateful strifeful spirit that’s being heard by heaven” and instead, we fill God’s ears with worship. How beautiful that is. We worship Him and instead of hearing complaints, God finds refreshment from our love and adoration. How beautiful it is to Him to see us follow after Him as well, to watch us grow and mature so that we love like He does. So that we unite like He does.

We are full of strife, full of wars and fighting among us, the hand saying to the eye, "I have no need of you." The eye saying to the nose, "I have no help for you today."
I had this thought a while back. What if all the ministers in my city sat in the room together? Ministers of every denomination and faith. What would they say to each other? Would there be joy and laughter? Worship for our Father? That IS the prayer — OUR FATHER which art in heaven. Not your version and mine. You worship as you will. I'll do what fits me. I understand there will always be doctrinal differences, but there will always only be one body, one living God, one Savior who is the head of us all; and we should celebrate one another because only when we are in unity will we become the spotless bride our bridegroom delights in upon His return. Instead of squabbling children who are too busy comparing injuries and afflictions so that we can sit on Jesus' left and right hand.

That didn't please the Master the first time, and it doesn't please Him now. We are to LOVE ONE ANOTHER and pray for our enemies, who SHOULD NOT BE OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THE CHURCH. The enemy is the kingdom of darkness which is defeated (de-feeted as my mother always says). And those lost in that kingdom, serving the enemy, are who Jesus died to save, and we are Him. Us. Together, we are to seek and save the lost like He did, which we cannot do until we come into unity and submit ourselves to God (the first step) so that we can resist the devil and send him running.

Running in terror, the Scripture says because we look and sound so much like Jesus that he can't tell the difference.

“God made us so much the same as Himself that it was illusionary (Ge 1:27) … The Hebrew word for ‘image’ is tselem, which involves the concept of a shadow, a phantom or an illusion. An illusion is something you think you see, but on closer observation you discover that your eyes have tricked you. When the rest of the creation saw Adam, they must have done a double take, probably thinking something along these lines: For a moment I thought it was God, but it’s only Adam.” | Dutch Sheets, “Intercessory Prayer” Chapter 2
