The Overflow

Is Jesus dead and in the tomb? Are you staring at the empty cross? Or is He risen and crowned King of Kings?

Is the glass half-empty or half-full? Is there only one bagel left in the bag or is it, THERE'S ONE BAGEL LEFT IN THE BAG! Are we complaining about the one or celebrating it? We have lost our focus. We have concentrated on the losses and missed out on the overflow. That we had bagels and cream cheese is marvelous. That they didn't go to waste is as it should be and, look! There's one left!

This is just a silly example, but our thought patterns matter. We must see the evil in order to combat it. We must stand tall in faith. But we stand there knowing we have the victory. We see the battle as won and not the mess we made at our feet.

Is there only one flower left in the garden? One slightly damaged blossom. Or is there a lot of space left for seeds? Did the sun set last night and you slept horribly? Or did the sun rise today with healing in its wings? Is Jesus dead and in the tomb? Are you staring at the empty cross? Or is He risen and crowned King of Kings?

Apply this liberally to your mindset today and think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, and full of virtue. See the glass half-full and on the way to overflowing. Determine to become the overflow into the life of someone else. You have one bagel left. Share it.
