Living Water

The Holy Spirit fills our beings with the abundant life of God.

There are many types of soil with different molecular structures, from the finest-grained sand to swampy soil, clay soils, and volcanic soils, and although they are all soil, they are physically different from each other. There is only one molecular structure for water — H20. All water has two molecules of Hydrogen and one of Oxygen. What makes it different is what’s in it. Forensic science can identify the place of a crime next to a water source based on the diatoms and other life in the water. Water from different natural sources tastes vastly different based on location and filtering. But it is still H20.

Men and women come from many cultures, many nations, and have many skin colors. As has been said, God likes variety. But He is also all these varieties of people. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is a Jew. But God, the Father, is a Spirit and from Him comes each one of us. From the soil, of many types, comes many types of people and to the soil we will one day return. What makes the difference in us, during our lifetimes, is the water of the Holy Spirit. There’s only one of Him, and though His methods of deliverance may be different between us, His Resurrection power is the same, His love for mankind is the same, and His life-giving breath in all of us.

The human body is approximately 60% water. Without water, we are not. The Holy Spirit is just as vital in us upon salvation, filing our beings with the abundant life of God. He is our wisdom, our comfort, and our peace. Our life. But also, just as the rain falls from heaven to water the earth and cause the seed to grow, He’s vital upon us. His Resurrection power is available to us to preach the gospel and lay hands on the sick and see them recover. What He is within us, He is upon us so that we can spread the gospel across the earth. So that we can speak with His anointing and tell others that Jesus died and rose again so they could be saved, be healed, and be successful.

The Holy Spirit is in us for us, personally, and how marvelous that is! But He’s upon us for you, for others. For those who are hurting, who His love in us came to save.
