IN JOHN 14:6, Jesus made a life-changing statement. “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” A revelation of the Father was His purpose for coming. Seconds later, He emphasized this to Phillip, “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.”
That is WHO JESUS IS. He is the Seed sown by the Sower into the soil of men’s hearts so that they might grow tall and produce fruit.
Seed the Sower created, in the ground He’d formed, beneath the Sun He’d set in place, and the Rain He’d sent, so that the Life He’d given within it would cause it to grow. Fruit for the Sower. The plants do not need to eat the fruit, nor does the soil, except to create more seeds in the image of the first. First the blade, then the ear, then the full corn in the ear, a harvest the Father desired, to be delighted in by Himself.
The planting is His, the growing process is His, the harvest is His, the banquet one He’d prepared to enjoy Himself. Because He desired it that much. Because He loved to that extent.
