“And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.” (Malachi 3:11)
We typically read this verse and apply it to finances since the previous verse is talking about giving tithes but look with me at the word “time.” The Hebrew word shakol means “to miscarry, that is, suffer abortion; cast young; make childless.” (H7921)
Now read the words of Psalm 128:3. “Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.” And Psalm 127:3. “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”
A fruit being “cast” before its “time” means it did not ripen. I have a small potted orange tree that flowers and grows green fruit the size of peas, but most of them fall off and never mature. Here is the analogy of Scripture. Abortion, miscarriage, childhood cancer, teenage suicide, these are all instances of FRUIT cast before its time.
See this—the Scripture promises a solution. It says because of our GIVING, the DEVOURER (1Pe 5:8) CANNOT harm our children. He cannot stop OUR FRUIT from reaching FULL MATURITY. He no longer has that authority. If we reinforce it. #knowyourrights
